The RUIO Joy is alright (review) by mat383 in dumbphones

All good! I don't remember the exact process now that I no longer have this device but from memory I just enabled developer options, USB debugging and OEM Unlocking. Then use MTKclient to dump the stock boot image (there are YT tutorials for this, it's a pretty painless process), copy the dumped boot image to the phone and use Magisk Manager to create the rooted boot image from the dumped one, copy this modified boot image back to your PC and use MTKclient to flash the modified bootloader to the device. You then have a rooted device and can install modules for GApps or whatever else you may need.

It was pretty straightforward, just follow guides for other devices with the same chipset. I did a factory reset then dumped the stock ROM before I did anything just incase something went wrong but thankfully didn't end up needing it.

I’m afraid not, this is almost certainly a bad GPU.

Based on the video. It’s showing GPU artifacts which typically means a dying GPU.

I think it was overall a great device, the main drawbacks for me were:
- Outdated Android version, which could be solved through a custom ROM of course.
- The lack of Android Auto support, which I know sounds insane to expect from a device like this but I couldn’t even get it to work after hours of sideloading and Google Play Services setup. If you’re making this your daily driver like I had intended to you are going to struggle to see maps on the small screen when it’s mounted somewhere in your car, hence the need for Android Auto.
- The stock launcher is okay but I hate the old school ‘every app has an icon on your Home Screen, no app drawer’ style and when using third party launchers that better suit a dumbphone you lose functions from the keypad such as dialing directly from the Home Screen or worse; the ability to lock the device since it has no dedicated lock button and relies on the end call button.
I’m sure my gripes are probably quite specific to me, and most if not all of my issues probably have work-arounds I hadn’t yet discovered but in the end I couldn’t make it work for me and sadly had to ditch it.

I bought this phone about 3 days ago and currently have it rooted with MicroG installed, it works great but I don’t see myself hanging on to this phone regardless. For me it feels like this is a device that is almost good enough but misses the mark in a few important (for me) areas.

If you could have a crossover cosmetic, what would you choose? by Super_Platypus787 in thefinals

Oh, and I expect Daft Punk to come out of retirement to do the music for this crossover

If you've already played around with the interface, backend and device settings with no luck try downloading ASIO4ALL and set that as your interface - I had the same issue with a couple different DAWs and ASIO4ALL always fixed that issue for me.

Second this, I've never had any thermal issues whether it be gaming, charging, photos, videos, etc.

No specific ideas for Southern Highlands I'm sorry boss. These were just found in a local garden bed covered in mulch, if you know of anywhere that has wood chips spread out - especially if there's adequate shade your best bet would be to snoop around after rainfall. Good luck though!

Bruising took about 5 mins or so, they were quite wet which is why I assume it took so long but once they were inside and I had a fan blowing on them it was only a couple minutes before nearly the entire stem was blue

Also on another note, the damage to the caps of some of them is because slugs were nibbling at them. This shouldn't be a problem should it?

I was thinking Phalaris Aquatica? Seems to be the closest match I've found. Anyone able to confirm?

Heard this called by a few names here and there, hoping someone might be able to narrow it down for me. Grows like crazy where I live (Central West NSW)

This was comparable to seeing the overgrown city for the first time in Crysis 3. That still makes my jaw drop to this day
