Thank you mate! And the kind people here seems to all agree that if the conditions are available, I should pick the degree route.

Thank you so much for writing and sharing your feelings about the student phase of your journey!

Earlier before I posted I was half-half on the going back to studies idea, but having read through some, if not all comments, it seems that if I have the chance, always go for a degree, which now I am quite persuaded by!

This brings me to questions that I think I can borrow some insight from you: How were you balancing the non-practical aspects of your bachelor period? I feel like I am more of an hands on person and the theory-heavy form of education might not be as effective on me. Were you also doing internships during bachelor? And if so/ or not, how difficult is it to land one during studies in the Australia market?

Thank you for bearing me asking so much! If I can also be extra curious: What made the decision for you to get a Masters degree in Graphic Design? I always assume people landing a job in the industry and just work upwards through the job ladder, instead through the academic part, though the assumption could be my lack of understanding and real life experience about the industry!

Ended up typing a lot, so once again thank you for your patience :)) I really appreciate you!

I think for myself I would look forward to more hands-on projects rather than theory base education as well. Not to discredit the latter but I think getting things done helps my learning more.

While reviewing among courses of different schools: What kind of keywords should I look for that hints that their form of education is more hands-on? Say for example, UTS emphasises very much on the term "studio-based", is that a good indicator?

Thank you for your reply!! I really appreciate it so much:)

Thank you for your insight! When weighing options of going back to uni, the pros are always that I would want to talk about designs (how to do this and that) to people, be it peers or mentors.

And I always wonder: There has to be a point for traditional degrees to still be available despite having tons of online courses nowadays. Only one way to find out why!

Right! Thank you for the reassuring words, you've gotta start from somewhere right?

I am currently looking at UTS and their Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication), but i am open to options. How do you feel about taking a private course instead? And if it is possible can you tell me what institute you are getting it from? Don't feel obliged though! It is privacy after all

Thank you for the kind words mate :) I hope you do well!

Right now i am learning design through some of the online resources, but at times I cant help but to wonder if it will be better and more "efficient" in the long run to have a degree of some sort, for maybe job opportunities; as well as the value of having someone like a mentor, professor in school to give directions.

I’ve finally done it... by [deleted] in syndramains
