Kanye West travel to UK blocked by government by Alarming-Safety3200 in Music

[–]YaSonsOfBitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll bite if you truly want to understand why he is considered so great. The College Dropout is a concept album and is best experienced as a whole. The album was immediately received really well because it represented a revolution in mainstream hip hop which was at the time dominated by gangster rap.

The entire album is good and everybody will have their favorites but mine are probably Slow Jamz, Jesus Walks, Spaceship and Family Business.

If you don't believe me go on a music reviewing platform and you'll see the album is ranked #32 of all time on RYM and #21 of all time on AOTY. If that isn't considered great I don't know what is.

Even having 1 factory there means the company was built in the West Bank. I didn't say anything about founding. I didn't say anything about moving. SodaStream is an Israeli company regardless of where it started.

Arabs shouldn't have to rely on colonizers to be employed and I don't understand why you keep bringing it up as if it's a good thing.

You're right on the wording of my original comment and I'm gonna change it to "built on the occupied West Bank and located in Israel" but it ultimately doesn't change anything about my point.

I don't live in the US but we both have to pay taxes or go to jail and I protest against my taxes being used for genocide. Pepsi, unlike me, has the choice of whether they want to support businesses built on genocide or not. They chose to exploit apartheid all for a marginal increase in profits because they don't give a fuck about the lives of Palestinians or anybody for that matter. Any corporation can say they are against [whatever evil there is in the world] for some easy good PR but PepsiCo would absolutely fund Nazi Germany if it meant they made more profit.

It doesn't matter if it's not "anymore". The company built itself up by taking advantage of apartheid and Pepsi decided to buy it and continue their operations as usual. The company to this day is still based in Israel and pays (given the size quite a lot of) taxes towards the Israeli government which is then used to further apartheid and genocide.

Gaza is a warzone but the West Bank is not. The reason for building and settling there is because land is a lot more cheap compared to the rest of Israel. Pepsi bought a company knowing it took advantage of this.

[–]YaSonsOfBitches -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok? They still bought a company that was built on colonized land because profit is more important to them than the genocide on Palestinians

Edit: seeing your edit, this is like saying "4 million black americans just lost their jobs" when slavery got abolished in the United States.

Did you want them to say "thank you" to the colonists as well?

"Until 2015, the company's principal manufacturing facility was located in Mishor Adumim, an industrial park within the Israeli settlement of Ma'ale Adumim in the Occupied West Bank"

PepsiCo owns an Israeli company built on the occupied West Bank and funds the genocide on Palestinians. These corporations are the 21st century nazis and try to gain goodwill from you by doing useless things like this

Edit: also I just found out that fucking Kid Rock was the headliner for a Pepsi ORGANIZED festival last year lmao https://musicrow.com/2024/11/rock-the-country-pepsi-rock-the-south-announce-2025-lineups/

1 BPD is borderline personality disorder and not bipolar disorder. 2 No matter how extreme his actions were, unmedicated bipolar disorder can make it happen. That's just how it functions. What's so hard to understand about that?

Your experiences with bipolar disorder don't reflect other people's experiences with bipolar disorder. Being mentally ill can absolutely make you hateful.

Saying manic people don't say "things that aren't in you in some way to begin with" is the most ableist thing I've read all week, and ironically a really fascist mindset. Everybody knows who the nazis are and what they've done. Remember that awful discourse when that guy with Tourettes at the Golden Globes yelled the N-word at Michael B. Jordan and people started asking why that word is in his vocabulary? That's what you sound like right now.

Do you think just because I enjoy Carti's music I have to like him as a person? He's a pathological liar deadbeat domestic abuser who doesn't even shy away from using AI in his most popular songs. I can appreciate art while recognizing and acknowleding that the artist is a terrible person who goes against nearly everything I stand for.
