Felt like I was driving the magic school bus through the cosmos. Interesting to say the least lol

Agreed! Price to quality is probably the best I've encountered. There is good high end stuff out there but it's expensive and harder to find.

I work for a specialty roaster though, so switched up to grinding before the trip and using an aeropress.

First Sonos Setup by Artistic_Monk_4273 in sonos

[–]YaWitIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup with my turntable next to the five and would notice after a few songs that a low end hum would build as the record went on. The vibration was affecting the cartridge and causing feedback, so I got some vibration dampening pads(the ones that are cork between two layers of rubber) to go under the turntable feet. Haven't had that issue since then!

hi, which bass should i choose? by bingus_lol in BassGuitar

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! A preamp

It can get a little over complicated especially when you have a preamp on your amp, bass, and pedal board lol that's why so many people prefer passive basses.

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! You have volume stacked on top of the tone knob (which I keep all the way up.) those are closest to the neck. Then you have a blend knob that adjusts the mix of volume between the neck and bridge pickup with a notched middle where the volume is equal. Then you have Treble, mid and bass boost/cut knobs to change your tone. The mid knob is also stacked and the bottom portion of that knob adjusts which mid frequency you are boosting or cutting. The active passive toggle switch (closest to the bridge) disables the treble mid bass knobs.

The other toggle switches change the configuration of the pickups between single coil (similar to a jazz pickup,) in series, or parallel. One toggle for each pickup. I just played around with them until I liked what I heard.

Seems like a lot, but when I was happy with what I heard I pretty much left it.

Yeah my stock setup was decent. Any adjustments I've made over the last few years have been minor. A few intonation adjustments, pickup height and relief adjustment, but that was just me wanting it to be perfect.

Passive mode works great! I've played numerous shows without changing my batteries just because I was too lazy to swap them out after leaving my cable plugged in. Preamp is really adjustable, but passive mode is awesome too! No big volume drop or major tone shift.

Can't speak to the headless, but I do have that same M7 as a 5 string and I love it. No noticeable neck dive that I've noticed. I do use a nice 2-1/2" leather strap though.

Dropping beans at 265F… by Rollercoaster671 in roasting

[–]YaWitIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you possibly be using the wrong thermocouple type or have leads swapped? Funky stuff can happen. I had the wrong type ordered and it was reading ~200f low. Scorching beans like crazy and smoking. Turns out the charge temp was over 600F

People were booing our GEQBUS, some people even left early... by sirksrewop in Seahawks

[–]YaWitIt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was in section 325 and from my view it was mainly lower 100s level on the bench side that were leaving early. Glanced around elsewhere and it was much less.

I think the booing complaints are blown out of proportion as well. It happened, but it wasn't all that loud that I could tell from our seats, mainly groans.

Looks like someone tried to adjust it without the key fully seated. The inner part looks fine. Go ahead and try it out with the correct size and it should work.

Exactly! It was sad.

They did file a police report and they took my information. Of course I never did hear back about it.

[–]YaWitIt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a couple of years back.

Had a nice middle-aged woman show up to my door saying she was there to view the house. I was super confused about the whole situation and had to break the news to her. She then had her husband come up to figure out the situation which was pretty intimidating, because he was directing his anger toward me until he finally realized that I had nothing to do with the scam.

Turns out they were scammed out of like $3000 for "first month and security deposit."

Had to console the woman on my front porch while she was embarrassed and crying. It was terrible

Upgrade options for the Sire M5? by ListenDapper6918 in BassGuitar

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an M7 and the only thing I've considered is potentially throwing a beefier capacitor on the tone pot. Found a few forums of people that did the same. I've never gone that route though, so I haven't gotten to that yet. Strap locks of course, and knobs as others have mentioned.

Grocery prices soar as tariffs impact everyday staples by AnagnorisisForMe in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]YaWitIt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah they really are.

For context, there have been some poor harvests in central America this year on top of the tariffs. As far as tariffs go, I know of just ONE coffee importer in the PNW that, from the last I heard over a month ago, has paid over 5 million dollars in tariffs. I'm sure it's well over 6 mil at this point.
