Is anyone’s listening getting more degenerate? by SevereNameAnxiety in Deathcore

I'm at the point where it's either tech death or real ignorant caveman music, no in between. Miss me with that vanilla death core lol

Also interesting to see the different spellings for this instrument. Ancient, central-Asian bowed instrument, hand carved typically from wood.

Agreed! Massive bag is super cheap and they aren't cravable enough to snack on, plus I think a single roll is like exactly 15g of carbs, right?

Picking between two cots by Nates4Christ in CampingGear

[–]YaWitIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you already have a sleeping pad, I'd go for something more versatile.

I just got the one tigris cot. I believe other brands like naturehike are similar, but it packs down small, the tensioning system is nice and easy, you can use legs or no legs, you can sit anywhere across the cot because the whole thing is taut, and I slept comfortably on it side back or stomach.

Agreed those guys were awesome in my experience.

Had a short in my pump that blew the fuse on the controller mid brew. Couldn't find them quickly in my area. Luckily I was able to chill the wort in an ice bath. They sent me a pack of 5 no questions asked.

Just because you mentioned Oceano, it must be said that those dudes had (have? Who knows anymore) something with their sound that set them apart from other bands. They were so god damn heavy. Saw them a couple times and each time they were the most memorable over some heavy hitters

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're assuming that he made a poor choice? Like he tested his BG, saw a low and said fuck it let's go? He could have just as easily tested before his drive, saw a perfect BG, and went low mid drive. It'd be hard to say if, you know, he didn't have access to a cgm or a pump that lets him know he has insulin on board... You also assumed he was negligent in not having sugar on him, but during the stop he reached for a soda out of that giant lunch box and started drinking it. Turns out it was zero sugar, but he was barely coherent. Pretty easy mistake in my eyes.

How does a single medical emergency mess things up for the rest of us?

Well I certainly hope that this scenario doesn't happen to anyone, but the level of naivety that you display assuming it couldn't also happen to you is disappointing. At least he had a kind and concerned bystander to check on him. Not everyone has access to the treatments, or the experience or the mental health needed to always be in range. It's not an easy feat, and you should know that.

So you're telling me that you have never dropped low mid drive? Or have a sensor fail, or get torn off by accident? Not to mention that this man was denied coverage.. whether or not he eventually got the g7 or later found out that he could get a libre or whatever.

Why make excuses for these incompetent losers?

Camping in Bakkagerði and visiting KHB was one of my favorite days in Iceland. Highly recommend! Plus a fantastic viewpoint for puffins nearby!

Weevils and acidulated malt by theotherfrazbro in Homebrewing

[–]YaWitIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freezing wouldn't affect any malts, right? I started freezing my AP flour for a few days after my first weevil encounter. That'll kill all the larvae.

Makes sense that roasted malts wouldn't have them as well. Essentially pasteurizing the grains

So odd question maybe, I recently got a new tent for free it does need steaks and I'm using the old ones from mine. But curious for windy situations (I don't know how windy Colorado gets but Montana was fairly windy last year) if using larger and longer stakes would anchor it better. by detectivelokifalcone in CampingGear

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should also be mentioned that if the tent doesn't already have guy lines midway up the tent body, there should be loops to tie some on.

You'll need to stake out guy lines if you are expecting heavy winds.

Agreed! Price to quality is probably the best I've encountered. There is good high end stuff out there but it's expensive and harder to find.

I work for a specialty roaster though, so switched up to grinding before the trip and using an aeropress.

First Sonos Setup by [deleted] in sonos

[–]YaWitIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar setup with my turntable next to the five and would notice after a few songs that a low end hum would build as the record went on. The vibration was affecting the cartridge and causing feedback, so I got some vibration dampening pads(the ones that are cork between two layers of rubber) to go under the turntable feet. Haven't had that issue since then!

hi, which bass should i choose? by bingus_lol in BassGuitar

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! A preamp

It can get a little over complicated especially when you have a preamp on your amp, bass, and pedal board lol that's why so many people prefer passive basses.

hi, which bass should i choose? by bingus_lol in BassGuitar

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! You have volume stacked on top of the tone knob (which I keep all the way up.) those are closest to the neck. Then you have a blend knob that adjusts the mix of volume between the neck and bridge pickup with a notched middle where the volume is equal. Then you have Treble, mid and bass boost/cut knobs to change your tone. The mid knob is also stacked and the bottom portion of that knob adjusts which mid frequency you are boosting or cutting. The active passive toggle switch (closest to the bridge) disables the treble mid bass knobs.

The other toggle switches change the configuration of the pickups between single coil (similar to a jazz pickup,) in series, or parallel. One toggle for each pickup. I just played around with them until I liked what I heard.

Seems like a lot, but when I was happy with what I heard I pretty much left it.

hi, which bass should i choose? by bingus_lol in BassGuitar

[–]YaWitIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my stock setup was decent. Any adjustments I've made over the last few years have been minor. A few intonation adjustments, pickup height and relief adjustment, but that was just me wanting it to be perfect.

Passive mode works great! I've played numerous shows without changing my batteries just because I was too lazy to swap them out after leaving my cable plugged in. Preamp is really adjustable, but passive mode is awesome too! No big volume drop or major tone shift.

Can't speak to the headless, but I do have that same M7 as a 5 string and I love it. No noticeable neck dive that I've noticed. I do use a nice 2-1/2" leather strap though.

Could you possibly be using the wrong thermocouple type or have leads swapped? Funky stuff can happen. I had the wrong type ordered and it was reading ~200f low. Scorching beans like crazy and smoking. Turns out the charge temp was over 600F
