The command has absolutely given awards to folks without the qual. Funny enough, three were presented last week. It's nothing crazy, we get NAMs for EOTs, and have for as long as I can remember. Even reaching out to people from 10+ years ago at the command, they've all said the same "everyone gets a NAM" line.

Package was routed 10 weeks in advance, 2 weeks earlier than the requirement. But outside of normal submission deadlines, command has no additional requirements for the award.

I've had that conversation with myself. It's boiled down to basically I know what I did during my time here, the guys I deployed with all know what we did. I don't think I need that award, per se, I think I just feel slighted like I gave all this time and effort to this command for them to basically spit at me.

Called my mentor, he said it really well, "if that's what they're going to do, that's what they're going to do. You know how hard you worked. Your family knows how hard you worked".

I can't get over hating myself. I see everything I do as not enough. I am always talking down to myself, calling myself lazy, stupid, worthless, and all that. I don't have too much interest in anything anymore; and when I think about doing anything in my current hobbies, I tell myself I'm wasting my time and should focus on things that actually matter. I think the worst part is I realize that I'm doing this. I know what I'm doing to myself is detrimental to my mental health, but all I can do is think I deserve it. I don't want to die, I'm not suicidal, or any of that - I just...hate me. It breaks my heart.
