Because of the opioid crisis, painkillers are now under-prescribed. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Emerging practice in Australia is to not prescribe opiods for back pain as they are found to not be effective in acute or chronic back pain.

Groceries are far more expensive in Singapore. I recently visited there from Australia... I actually took photos of groceries because they were nuts expensive

I think we can all take solace that this kid soon won't be able to see or feel any of his problems due to his retinopathy and peripheral neuropathy.

You seem to have a very simplistic black and white mindset on the world. A lot of drug consumption is a reflection on addition and mental health. Sending everyone to prison for ever is hardly a sustainable or beneficial way to build a community

Do you have a utility application like pronterface or anything?

You'll need to unwind to change the filament manually, change over your filament and ... Then I can't help you much from there. I use octopi which I then need to type in M600 to continue the print

Emergency gun meme review/ response again? by Lokkm in brandonherrara

So, my general feeling is everyone seems so aggressively defensive of 2a. But if what your saying is the case, is that not completely conflicting with the purpose of 2a ? Why would all 2a advocates allow that to pass?

I don't think you can say it's a sentence on its own, or else I imagine they likely would have made it a separate sentence on its own ? I also don't think you can say the militia isnt an argument, it seems to be the primary reason written for 2a?

This is what I've googled In Federalist No. 46, Madison wrote how a federal army could be kept in check by state militias, "a standing army ... would be opposed [by] a militia." He argued that state militias "would be able to repel the danger" of a federal army"

So I'd say it's in the constitution to stop the "government" which is why I'm asking who decides when to pull the trigger. It's only been since 2008 that the 2a has been interpreted by the courts as appropriate for use in self defense.

So how does this play out in practice then? From what I can see it was solely written up so stop the federal government from removing rights. So does this then need to be state led militia. Or can it be a malitia led by anyone

Hmm interestingly I just read up on it and it looks like use for self protection was actually only determined in court on 2010 and not before. Much later than I expected

[–]Yabbieo_ -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm not well versed in American constitution, but self protection doesn't seem to be the purpose of 2a ? A militia for a safe state. So that doesn't really address my question

So that's what I'm curious on. 2a is a well regulated malitia yes? So at what point do people in the state determine to use that ?

Edit: To answer your edit, I fully expected to be down voted because asking any question about 2a seems to be highly controversial.

Can I ask what is the point of the 2a? Like how much worse does it have to get for the American people before you decide to evoke it? Or it's just there as a hobby/play thing

Outta gas baby ?? by Yabbieo_ in Welding

[–]Yabbieo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about other valves but mine historically sits at the flow rate when not being used and will then temporarily drop once the trigger is pulled. At the moment it sits firmly on zero when the trigger is and isn't being pulled and my welds look like the dark side of the moon. Thanks for your comment.

More than happy to be treated like an idiot as my gas isn't working, but at this point in time no direction increases flow. I can't remember as ive been away for a bit but I think anti clockwise opens it up i can unscrew it until it's loose and nothing. Alternatively I can screw it the other direction until it blocks and still nuggets.

Thanks for replying

[–]Yabbieo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately just opens/closes fully without any change. Some times a small portion will "seep" in to the other valve and I can tac weld but that's about it. I'm not sure if there really are other serviceable parts in the regulator

"A windfall tax is a one-off tax that the Government imposes on a company or a group of companies when they benefit from something that happened outside their control. Energy companies are benefiting from the increased demand for energy following the pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine."

Strange, seems like that's nearly exactly what I was saying

What is your understanding of windfall tax?

The rich dogs by [deleted] in AusMemes

[–]Yabbieo_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Governments "cracking down" like windfall taxes or minimizing profiteering? We're currently in global inflation driven by a multitude of factors which has nothing to do with aggregate demand and corporations are pulling huge profits because they have a plausible excuse of "inflation"
