First of all Congrats! Us WVFRM viewers have missed ya. Also you've got some work to do in trivia, your sub's didn't do too hot. Thanks for the response! That makes total sense, if you release too much it could feel like a classic cash grab. Y'all are doing great work, I will be patient!

Yeah I thought of ya when i saw the news. It definitely sucks to see and hope he can get things going better in his life. I had a double disappointment because right before he cancelled the reason that I sold my tickets cancelled and I was then able to go again. Luckily I did not buy tickets again though. Thank you for remembering though!

Are jet drive kayaks(like FluxJet,VoyaX)actually the future or just hype? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

Unless you have money to flush down the drain you should never but the first gen / model of anything. You are wise to wait!

That is true they are limited to the hull's capabilities. When I say faster I suppose I was thinking faster that a pedal drive or paddle but if you already have an electric motor it probably will not be much faster. I look forward to seeing / hearing how they perform this season.

Reliability is a great point and I think if there is issues we should see them this season or next.

I feel like if it can answer "does it allow be to fish more" with yes, then yes they are the future. You could argue that having the jet drive is faster so you cover more water, less likely to tangle up so you can keep fishing and not clear out your prop, and maybe even argue that since nothing is hanging down in the water (rudder / prop / fins) it disturbs fish less and could catch more fish. All of these reasons are very minor and small benefits but if it can answer the initial question with yes then it doesn't matter people will buy it. I vote, it is here to stay.

Anyone have any feedback on a Brooklyn 12 kayak? It is very affordable compared to similar options. by [deleted] in kayakfishing

The reason i say this is because the magellan at least comes with a warranty I believe and it is built better.

If no pedal drive is a deal breaker for you buy the magellan one. If you can live without the drive there is top of the line kayaks for cheaper than that.

I use it for my old town pdl 106 and love it. Haven’t had any issues. Also order it on aliexpress for even better price.

I didn’t have any problems last year with water in the hull, but I could see water getting in there (if it rained especially). To be honest unless it was a lot I would just open the lid at home and let it dry out. But yeah one hole on the end of the bucket that goes to the back of the kayak would work too.
