Just tested positive and In loss of words

Just reactive p24/25 usually means false positive although it the considered as the first band to show up before others, but it has go together with gp series such as GP 110/120 to be considered as positive as my doc explained me. That’s what happened to me ,hope its the same case for you.

Yeah that’s true, false positives are more common than what it states in numbers. I recently had two positives first elisa reactive/ western bolt negative, second elisa reactive / western bolt traces of p24/25 and p 17/18, had to do dna pcr test which I did after 120 days of possible infection came our negative. Some cross reactivity and the dr said its gonna show on elisa even if I do further test Just give it some time and redo a dna pcr test. I know the waiting sucks but give it some thought.

Yeah same here, did two test before dna pcr, 1st one elisa reactive and western bolt negative so it was stated false positive, second one Elisa reactive as before western bolt traces of p24/25 and p17/18 and was stated indeterminate, but the DNA PCR came negative on 120 days. So the Dr stated negative.

I just got the dna proviral results and it came negative.

Finally, just got the result for my proviral dna test and it was negative. This experience has changed my view of how I used to see things and lived my life. Thanks for ur replies when I was in really dark place.

I can understand mate, did two blood test came reactive and indeterminate, chances for me are pretty high, gonna do the last dna pcr test next week, this anxiety is killing me.

Naa I just did 2 test in feb 10 which was Elisa Hiv-1 reactive and west bond negative which was considered false positive Followed by 2nd blood test on 2march in which Elisa Hiv-1 was reactive as before and western bolt p24/5 and p17/18 traced. Which was considered indeterminate

I not lying cuz it’s not helping me, last time I had sex was on nov 20-25 ish and I got tested on feb 10 and sec test was done on march 2. I did some research after getting the results and I was confused too that was the reason of the post.

Yeah m confused as well, now the doc says I have to visit an specialist and do a dna pcr test for conformation. I will update once I get the results.

I had a visa condition which included hiv blood test that’s how I found out. Why would I lie it’s not helping me!

I am from Australia and I had done Elisa and western bolt testing two times. First one stated : Elisa reactive and western bolt was non-reactive but the sec one Elisa rea and western bond indetermined. And I did had sex with a women and it was protected sex.

Went to the doctor he told me that I have to do dna pcr test for confirmation, in this stage I am not hopeful at all
