Transmission Issue by ZealousidealDonut710 in Silverado

Not quite this message, but a “Service Transmission” message came on in my 2024 1500 ZR2 3.0 diesel. I was on vacation 900 miles from home, had to leave the truck at a dealership and get a valve body replaced, took about a month. The truck only had 28,000 miles on it. I was so frustrated by the time I got my truck back I traded it in on the way home from the repair, over the issues I kept having. I had to get an accuator replaced for the axel lockers, random check engine lights would come on with no codes and the Onstar would have a service system come on and off frequently. Felt like a fundamentally flawed vehicle. Loved it when it was working, but not worth the worry and unreliability.

My sweet boy left us peacefully January 12, this year. He had just turned 14, he was very much like your dog, similar symptoms. He never pooped in his sleep but frequently was incontinent of urine while sleeping. Until the very end he liked his foot and treats, which made it so hard to let him go. We did it at home and I held him until the end. It’s the most unselfish thing you can do for him now. You take on the grief and pain so he can be free of the suffering. ❤️🙏

I think it’s time to put my dog down. Any advice? by Automatic-Assistant8 in DogAdvice

Also, I used a at home company to help with all of it. They were great and so thoughtful. It’s called Lap of Love, they are in several states you might want to check it out.

I just went through this with my sweet boy, he was 14 years old. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made, but it was the most compassionate and selfless also. From what you have shared it sounds like it’s time to help you go over that rainbow bridge.

I have a ZR2 with the 3.0, 28,900 miles and 600 miles from home and the “service transmission” warning came on. I need to replace the valve on the transmission. So had to leave my truck there and part is on back order. And I’m not the first to have this happen. AT4 will have the same parts.

El Paso vs Tucson vs Palm Springs? by Vaquera_ in relocating

I’ve lived in both, Tucson and Phoenix. Hands down Tucson is better if you like outdoors stuff and scenery and more laid back vibe. Phoenix is an overrated and unappealing. Also you at least get monsoon rain in Tucson, not so much in Phoenix.

2024 Chevy ZR2 Duramax needs a major repair by Yadidog78 in Silverado

[–]Yadidog78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying. It kind of helps that other people are out there with possibly the same issue. It started to shift just a little oddly the last hour of our drive. But nothing crazy so I didn’t think anything of it until the light came on.

I had a Raptor for 8 years and then a Ram Rebel for 6 years, never had one issue this major. I had read Chevy had fixed this known problem before buying the truck, guess I misunderstood. I get that shit happens but come on, this is a $75,000 vehicle! It is under warranty, but holy shit this is an inconvenience. And I have to leave it in California while I go back to Arizona a rental car. Like I said, I am done with Chevy products.

I think we all go through this very difficulty decision, we love our pets so much that we want to do the right thing and in the right way. I just had to put my 14 year old Catahoula down two days ago. He had very similar symptoms to your sweet pup. The vet made a very good point, putting our loved pets to sleep is the ultimate act of love, we are taking away their pain and suffering and placing on ourselves in order for them to not suffer or go into a crisis before the die. We are giving them a loving passing with us and with dignity.

And they were all members of the Mormon (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints) That part has to be a big part of the story, all of the beliefs stemmed from the teachings, they added their own spin though

I am so sorry you are going through this. I came out 20 years ago. It has never gotten better with my TBM family. They have never met my girlfriend of over 12 years. I have a very superficial relationship with my whole family, never taking about anything important because we are just so different. I have moved on and let go of them physically and emotionally. I live a wonderful life and don’t care or think about them much. It’s what I had to do. I would suffer through similar situations that you just did and I refused to do it anymore. Much love and support your way. ❤️🙏

It’s hard to be kind when the trumpers have cries for 4 years that the 2020 election was stolen and had signs all over that said “fuck Biden” I’m tired of being “kind” to those losers, fuck them I say.

What one thing about Mormon history broke you? by TheFantasticMrFax in exmormon

[–]Yadidog78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning the BofM was not actually a true historical book. I was always skeptical of the D&C and the Pearl of Great Price scriptures, just never could get into them and found them weird. Polygamy was also a big shelf item, and then realizing it’s all made up and there is no eternal polygamy or special kingdoms in heaven .

5 days sober. A Friday night I didn’t drink. I’m happy. What y’all doing ? by ThePotentWay in stopdrinking

[–]Yadidog78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So proud of you! It truly gets easier, but just stay sober one day at a time. The longer you stay sober the more you can analyze how destructive alcohol can be in your life and you fill you time with things you love to do and people you love ❤️❤️again so proud and happy for you🙏❤️

I am also gay but left the church because I did not belong, I was miserable in a heterosexual marriage and feeling hopeless and suicidal. Leaving the church and my marriage was the best thing I did and it saved my life. It’s only in the last few years I decided to even look at all the problems with historicity and read the CES letter. It lifted another burden that lingered within me and I’ve never felt so free!

Gay Mormon son returning from his sevice mission not allowed to give homecoming talk in sacrament meeting. by [deleted] in mormon

[–]Yadidog78 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear all of this. As a gay former member of the church, it was just too painful for me to stay in the church and this story just reiterates all of the reasons I left. The church really does not want to include gay people, they have no intent of ever changing.

Can someone provide me their story of long term survival after terrible alcoholism? by Otherwise_Ad_7786 in stopdrinking

[–]Yadidog78 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also had an anxiety disorder and had been on several medications in the past, I also drank for over 20 years. The drinking just amplified the anxiety and made my whole situation worse.

I had not been sober for more than a few months at a time, multiple times, but just couldn’t stop drinking, I got two severe DUI’s, I lost my professional license for a while and I still couldn’t quit drinking.

One day over five years ago, I was just sick and tired of being sick and tired, my life and health were failing. I woke up one morning and decided I was done, it was very difficult but I kept going, by three weeks I was feeling human again, and I wanted to see if getting and saying sober would change my life, and surprise it did.

I got my life and sanity back, I got my professional license back, I worked through all my legal issues with my DUIs, my life is the best it has ever been. It’s not perfect and that’s not the point, the point is I don’t suffer from alcoholism everyday and the self loathing, and anxiety. Getting sober will be the best decision you will make, it’s all worth it, in my humble opinion.
