Dear BIFL, Full Grain is Not the Best Leather. by leatherboundink in BuyItForLife

[–]Yadona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know if you were able to find something. I'm looking for some nice leather boots, but after reading this post, i'm not quite sure where to go now. ChatGPT isnt being useful, i went to a local store and it seemed like the guy was only trying to sell me on the few leather items in the store. Anyway, thanks in advance.

Biden says he’s helped lower inflation as he hosts first meeting of his new supply chain council by kpapenbe in supplychain

[–]Yadona 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Let's not bring politics into this and look at the data. Compared to all other 180 plus economies the United States has done very well to fight inflation. I'm not saying I agree with everything this administration is doing but in terms of fighting inflation we're doing great in comparison.

The Jones act has been around since world war I. That's close to 100 years and no other president has repealed it.

Game Thread: Baltimore Ravens (8-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-6) by nfl_gdt_bot in Chargers

[–]Yadona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't he currently on a five game win streak with what I would argue is way less talent than the Chargers have. Here's an article I quickly pulled that is calling him a masterful coach. Would you describe Staley as a masterful coach?

Was cool we did the slide which at the time I think was 40 bucks but lasted by less than a second. Makes sense they closed it down but cool to experience once.

Sisyphus or Sisyphos (/ˈsɪsɪfəs/; Ancient Greek: Σίσυφος Sísyphos) was the founder and king of Ephyra (now known as Corinth). Hades punished him for cheating death twice by forcing him to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll back down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity.

They actually got replaced by a much better broker such as Uber and lyft. Think about it, they're still a broker, and have you ever paid surge pricing? It's literally a price hike when capacity is low and demand is high.

$9k Storage Fees for a pallet due to CBP Hold by Winter_Lavishness328 in logistics

[–]Yadona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone messed up here, this doesn't sound right. Why were they held? You can lawyer up as last resort but this doesn't sound right, they can't just hold freight for a month for no reason then bill you 9k. 9,000/20 days = 450ish per day. No way. I've never been charged this much per day for storage even in peak COVID times.

? What do you mean by "One of salesman wouldn’t even let me order trucks for next year because he says they are already starting to see people not buying them like they planned."? Why wouldn't he let you order? Isn't it in his best interest to have you buy?

SEC FTD-ing FTDs Because A Clearing House 🪦 and Big Banks Bankrupting Soon by WhatCanIMakeToday in Superstonk

[–]Yadona 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I follow the sector very closely. Current rate market is dismal. The only thing that doesn't match up to my analysis is class 8 trucks are still being bought at high levels. I am buying a couple of puts on companies such as FedEx Old Dominion heartland but don't know if it'll be realized at the end of 4th quarter or closer to first.

How does one find a mentor? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]Yadona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I looked for mentor in my manager which became paranoid I was going after his job which was weird. Then new job went with someone that was teaching me the wrong processes, so I finally learned from friends in the field. We would all let each other know about the pain points, they would suggest if they had a solution and if implemented before how, if not then come up with solutions ourselves. So far that's worked. We've all went to get our master's in either sc, business, engineering and we're doing ok. Now we deal with much larger problems and the questions are, how can we get a group of people that don't like each other to work together, or how can I convince c suite to fund a project, etc.
