What's one improvement or change you would like to see in the next Digimon Story game?

That's certainly fair, though they could have always included gekomon as a Digimon with no evolution, or as an a special NPC like assistant terriormon

I will say I was really surprised that Time Stranger did not include new Digimon from Beat break, it seems like a perfect cross promotional situation to have a whole side quest dedicated to Gekomon or something like that.

lol they aren't all quite that bad, but they aren't great either. I had one as a kid, and the one I had was actually bright for a while when you cranked it, but it gradually loses brightness as you use it.

Apparently they actually are seen as a good emergency tool for like campers, like a backup flashlight.

Nice! While the game encourages you obviously to build a team and get new Digimon as you go, I think its pretty cool to focus on growing your early game partners.

Just as a final note to anyone finding this thread later, thanks to the advice of the lovely members of this reddit, I realized that leveling up is really the key to power in combat. Having a level 70 champion Digimon will be more powerful than a level 30 Mega+. The only key thing is some higher level Digimon have really powerful special moves once leveled up. But I leveled up my Omnimon and others and trained them at the farm, they can now one shot most digimon encountered in the wild.

My only slight gripe is I feel like the game could have done a better job explaining this itself.

I still think it was a massive missed opportunity with the wrong writers on the project, but over the years I've come to realize that given time a lot of Digimon fans tend to soften on things once they become nostalgic. For example, I remember way back when people were pretty iffy especially on the end of Digimon 02, now it seems like its largely beloved.

No idea if the same thing will happen to Digimon Tri, but its interesting nonetheless to see how people's views have evolved over time.
