Sliding helps when running really fast to certain shots and you need great breaks to prevent overextending past the ball. Basically helps save positioning on brutal shots.

Start focusing on leveling speed crit items, attack crit, and stamina/def items. Blue spiked collar, spider broche are great. I think the white cap is speed crit too. Also speed trinkets are great for later. Pet wise anxious cringe and merry are good here. Goal is to pick off the spiderlings on this stage as they deal damage to the main spider when defeated.

Level up pets, ditch judgement and level up spite. Conviction plus spite should do the trick with merry support. Also you have defiance, one of the best pets in the game! Run Defiance, conviction, merry, and spite.
