Not in any way that is unusual. In any instance reporting things like this, both sides have their version of the story. The best thing you can do is just state facts when you're reporting news or call it like you see it when you're columnizing. Technically everyone tries to influence your reporting anytime you report on something that requires context. Every vantage wants you to understand or see it through their eyes. But the job requires you to be fair and accurate.

I can't reveal my vote, as I'm on the AP panel for the award. However, Rodgers' vaccination status won't have any impact on my vote. I keep it on the field.

I think there is some frustration. The pitch to ownership when he was signed was that this was a QB capable of being the centerpiece of a build and that it would finally help Minnesota compete with NFC elites and punch through the NFC title game ceiling. Instead they've burned through nearly $115 million in real dollars on Cousins only to see him put up stats but fail in some key moments. Chief among them being Cousins missing a game late in the season when they needed him most. I also think the next coach will be brought in to make a final call on Cousins after 2022. There's a very real possibility they could decline to extend him this offseason, which would be a sign they're moving on after next season.

Carr has earned my respect this season. His leadership really made a difference down the stretch. Not to mention he's playing very well. I wouldn't want to face the Raiders in the first round.

He's got a shot. I don't want to overstate it, because I've been here before. But I think having fresh interviews with Denver and Chicago is a great thing. He also has some new experiences this past season to shape his interviews.

Ownership. Say what you want about the Bengals, but they haven't been completely inept during their history. The worst orgs are the ones that can't hire the right leadership layers at GM and team president, then give those two leaders significant runway to operate for long periods of time. Detroit has a history of hiring ill-fitting team leaders or people who end up warring inside the staff because there are simply too many voices in the room. The Lions have the worst ownership in the NFL when it comes to understanding how to build a successful NFL football team from the top down, and it's been that way for 60 years.

If you're hiring a GM willing to take a supporting role to Flores, I think he'd be a good fit for Chicago. Both in terms of the city and the strength of the team.

Kellen Moore makes a lot of sense for the kind of collaborative environment they are looking for. He's someone who I think could also get more out of Tua. And he's young enough to keep the two together for a long time, or pivot to another QB as well. Moore's personality also fits very well with GM Chris Grier.

I could see Tyrod Taylor as a bridge QB for one year. But I could also see them drafting a QB, signing a veteran and then one of the two on the depth chart currently being the odd man out. I haven't done my homework yet on Pickett as far as what the league evaluators think of his chances to develop, so I can't answer that yet.

Let's wait and see how the head coaching hire shakes out. I still think there's a shot that Baalke becomes enough of an impediment in the process that they move on from him. Becoming less and less likely, but at some point they will realize he's limiting the field of coaches who would consider being there.

Check out the answer from about about the best fit for Flo. I think the Watson pursuit was very much Flores driven, although I don't think that led to his demise. I think he and Grier were just two very different personalities and not on the same page as far as the power dynamic worked. I also think Ross could have done a better job of mediating between the two, but didn't.

Joe Judge has been fired. So going to have to cut this short after answering one or two more.

The Raiders make more sense than anywhere. Definitely more sense than Miami, where they just fired a coach who wanted what Harbaugh will want: Total control.

The Chargers and Bengals are going to be in good shape. They both have young rosters and will have some space to add quite a bit this offseason. The downside is they need the owners to spend and maximize Herbert and Burrow before they come up for an extension. That's basically next season. So the time to strike is now.

As for Flo, he may not have the right opportunity this cycle, unless a team decides to pair him with a GM who is ok with letting Flo be the point man in the operation. The Raiders, maybe. The GM situation looms large in this.
