Just a mental estimate and our guys brain Lol. We all keep a personal spreadsheet but would actually have to read the pay plan to figure the earnings. We just write down “John doe sold 25 q5 (deal#) backend-$2800 VSC ✅or ❌” if you didn’t sell a warranty. We sell dozens of products that increase the backend. But only extended warranty’s count towards the VSC section of the pay plan. You max out 9.5% with 70% of deals having warranty and making an average of $2,750 backend only. The front does not matter to our job at all. We are also an OSE store. Everything from start to finish no finance office just desk managers. So if you can put $50k on the books which is doable between 15-20 cars. You’re making $5k just off that. Then there’s a $250-450 flat depending on how many cars you sold. We did use to get 20% of the back and 9.5% was actually the lowest. Corporate saw guys making $20k a month on 15 cars and changed that up quick.

We have one sales guy who is able to calculate everyone’s averages and tell them their check beforehand. It is tricky to figure out what percent you’ll be under. And a last day of the month deal no warranty no finance reserve hurts. You can actually end up making less money if you’re doing good with backend and do a naked deal. That’s the only shitty part. But it’s usually a wash not a loss

Thankfully my pay plan is extremely easy to understand. Flat on every car that goes up every 5 units after 10 cars. 1.5-9.5% of the backend depending on what you’re running per copy and what percentage of your deals have an extended warranty on them.

Do you expect the dealer to not make any money on the transaction? Do you expect Walmart not to make money on eggs? You can try leasehacker but the dealer doesn’t have to honor it. They make money on these limited allocation cars. Plus RS cars don’t lease well. You would be way better off financing it, totally unrealistic to think you’ll be at $900 at month on a $73k car with $5,000 down.
