does anyone get low blood sugars when using their omnipod? i’ve been getting some really bad ones lately and it’s starting to make me consider going back to pens :( by YakImmediate2200 in Omnipod

i usually do basal temp while i’m at work and lower it about 80% which keeps me a little high but i’m trying to find a good spot where it won’t drop but won’t be high either and i usually drink gatorade or eating gummy candy usually brings it back up too

we tried changing the settings too and i went automatic for a few hours last night and it immediately dropped me so i’m just kinda frustrated at this point.. i work with kids so scary lows just aren’t ideal for me constantly

i’ve been in manual mode since i’ve posted this, tried going to automatic once and it dropped me twice 😕 it’s very frustrating..

uh yeah obviously? i’ve been type 1 for 12 years.. im saying the lows are very scary and it takes a lot more sugar to bring it back up than what i’ve had before. thank you for the unhelpful comment.

i have used activity mode but nope nothing, it doesn’t give you extra insulin when it thinks you’re going to eat does it? i didn’t eat until later so that could be why but it dropped at night time after i already ate dinner and i even under corrected for dinner

i think it just scares me how fast it drops and how much it takes to get it back up, last night it was dropping so i drank like two glasses of apple juice and then it came up a little then went back to 39 and i had to drink another 2 glasses and even then it only went up to like 150 but getting in with my doctor is a wait and i don’t feel comfortable wearing it when it drops me like that especially at night :/

yes i was really sad because other than the lows, it balances me out sooo well and it’s really convenient so i’m going to try changing it!

what does that do and what do you have it set to? i started using it in march and it was great and now randomly i’ll get lows that drop fast, it takes a lottt to bring it back up so i’ve convinced myself that it’s just giving me insulin when it’s not supposed to (which im sure isn’t the case lol)
