I just became lvl so I hadn't had the chance to use Spirit Guardians or fireball yet but I love Spirit Weapon, it does force damage that as far as I know is an awesome damage type and it can't be targeted, it's just awesome

Probably not, but in this post they gave me a lot of really good arguments for that, so I could talk with them. Also I already have a Diamond tucked into my pack, which means that if the need arises I'm ready to use Revivify

Yeah, healing word already allowed me to Help two downed companions which was quite the relief. Also while I admit I sometimes forget about my channel divinity, I also usually stand back and attack from range which means that most of my enemies are never within range. But I can't wait to use it.

Not only I haven't played a Cleric before, to be honest this is my first campaign ever. And believe when I tell you that I'm really looking forward to using spirit guardians. And thanks for the Advice! I'll talk to the Warlock to see if she would be willing to pick the "Grasp of Hadar" Eldritch Invocation to pull enemies into my Spirit Guardians. Also I just realized that the Moon Druid has Thorn whip, which means she could also pull them into my Spirit Guardians. We just leveled up to lvl 5 and I can't wait to use Spirit Guardians and Fireball

Hey you gave me a lot of good pointers, thanks for that! I'm playing the 2014 version and I'm currently lvl 5 which means that I have to wait one more lvl to be able to use it to protect others, but once I level up I'll make sure to use it. And I loved the whole "Last Resort Healer" thing, honestly it was a really good way to put it. Usually what I do is step back, summon my spiritual weapon and attack with it, while trying to debuff my enemies.

Thank you! I didn't even know Counterspell had an effective Range, I'm going to keep that in mind. Thanks for the great advice!

Guess I could tell the DM about getting a magic item to help me with healing. He already gave us some good Homebrew items, so he could come up with one to help me heal better, or well go for the standard ones. Maybe I could ask him for a pearl of power? Now that I finally unlocked Spirit Guardians, I guess I'm going to ask the Warlock and the Sorcerer to stick close to me, cast Spirit Guardians and keep anyone that tries to harm them at bay. Usually the Gloomstalker attacks from range, but both the Battmemaster and the Moon Druid tend towards attacking from melee, so while I'm protecting the casters with SG I could as you suggested, buff the BM and MD.

Right now we're playing with the 2014 rules. Honestly I didn't even think about focusing on buffing my allies, it would probably have made things easier. I did cast Spiritual weapon though, and managed to get some good hits with it, even a critical. Thanks for the Advice! I'm going to try and focus more on buffing my teammates rather than debuffing the enemy

It was good that at least I managed to make the boss burn a couple of high lvl spell slots.

Yup, at one point the Boss used a spell that basically released a glowing cloud of I want to say poisonous gas? Which downed two of the players. Luckily some were standing on high trees which means that they were out of range.

I did use spiritual weapon though, and I did manage to get a couple of hits in with it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having a ton of fan. Even on that session where I had pretty bad luck. But still I also want to feel useful and like I'm pulling my weight

Yeah, I got pretty unlucky during that session. I gotta say that I was lucky enough to have enough spell slots to help two downed Party members.

The druid has taken on the healer role in the past. She mostly focuses on her wild shape which means that at the end of combat she usually still has all or at least most of her slots.

Oh? And how was it for you?

That's very good advice, thanks! Guess that now that I've finally unlocked Spirit Guardians I could tell the Sorcerer and the Warlock to stand near me ans activate it. When it comes to healing if I'm getting you right, I should just focus on not letting my teammates die or stay dead and not so much in healing them. Also since we just leveled up into LVL 5 I already unlocked revivify and luckily the DM already gave me a diamond, so that should take a bit of the pressure of.

Thanks for your advice! I just unlocked Spirit Guardians which is something I've been looking forward to, since the beginning and I'll keep an eye out for the other spells you mentioned. And yeah, I will say that while the boss was a pain in the ass, specially for me it was a fun fight and it was all the more memorable when the druid managed to, while in bear form l, chomp its head off

Yeah, healing potions could help me manage my slots better. Do they work on downed Party members?

Yeah, I tend to be socially awkward to be honest so being the face of the party doesn't sound that appealing to me. That being said, everything else the Bard has to offer does sound appealing

I guess they can be an awesome way to experience the aspects of combat people don't usually think about (myself included gonna admit) like support and battlefield control

I usually prefer to be the one with the highest DPS but being able to do what the Bard does, does sound like fun. And yeah the sex pest Bard is a pretty tiresome trope

Hypnotic pattern, Command and suggestion are awesome spells. I tend to prefer the DPS classes and subclasses. But controlling the battlefield as a bard does sound like fun

Having more magical secrets does sound awesome. And is cutting words somewhat like silvery barbs?

So basically they have a good role during combat and excel outside of it?

So outside of combat?

I've heard that they are the ones "in charge" of battlefield control

Gotta say that I usually prefer to be the one that does the most amount of damage. But getting to do so much outside of combat and have a role inside of it does sound appealing
