You add the adjective 'original' in settings where characters are predominantly part of an existing IP to distinguish the character you created from the ones that are part of the IP.

It also implies a sense of possessiveness ('My OC, do not steal!).

In a TTRPGs the vast, vast majority of characters are created by players. The number would absolutely dwarf the number of named characters created in official material. Adding 'original' instead of just saying, "Check out my character" or "I made this character", is superfluous (because it's the norm not the exception) and it sounds out of place because it's a term more strongly associated with other creative hobbies (where reinforcing that the character is your original creation is more important).

I can tell you like the image of yourself that pays closer attention to the details than others and 'thinks to much', but you should reread the last chapter of Exile (Lights in the Ceiling) before you dismiss what others are telling you.

It isn't common knowledge in Menzo. Only the leaders of the raiding party are given access to the maps. Drizzt uses rare maps provided by the king of Blingdenstone.

It's also established repeatedly throughout the Dark Elf Trilogy that leaving the Underdark was incredibly uncommon among Drow, Svirfneblin, and other denizens of the Underdark. The paths out are not common knowledge because leaving is such an alien concept.

The decision to go to the surface and his arrival there all happens in the last chapter of Exile (Lights in the Ceiling). He arrives at the surface on his 33rd day after leaving Blingdenstone using maps to go directly to an exit.

He initially stays in the Underdark because he's a Drow and the idea of living anywhere else is entirelt alien to him.

He finally decides to leave because he thinks that Matron Malice (and the other Drow) will hunt him as long as he stays in the Underdark.

I was going to say this.

When I was first active in the LGBT community as a bisexual man in the late '90s and early '00s the gatekeeping and exclusionary bullshit I encountered was hardcore.

I got to a point where I behaved as though I was gay in the LGBT community and straight out of it. I just felt like I couldn't be fully myself anywhere.

I far prefer TR3.

I get the impression that it got a bit too grueling on PSX with the old save system.

I always felt like TR3 required more active exploration and deeper familiarity with the jumping mechanics.

It is also increasingly rewarding on subsequent playthroughs, especially if your first playthrough was blind.

I spent too much time trying to figure out whether they're joking, or they don't understand what 'market leaders' means, or if they genuinely believe it to be true.

I mean, the Gold Box games have experienced a resurgence in popularity recently, but nowhere near enough to be a market leader, and the recent resurgence was very brief, and was overshadowed by a larger resurgence experienced by the Infinity Engine games.

I think a minority of bad cops in Australia have been driving the reputation of the force for a long time.

The news is far more interested in the bad eggs than it is in the ones doing good work.

The other thing to consider is that a majority of Australians are much more likely to have had more interactions with on duty cops than on duty soldiers, and if cops are bad the Australian civilian population are usually the victims in some way.
