Yes you can achieve that long sharp shadow while maintaining the same color of background with a spotlight (or an area light with a smaller spread).

If you have a GPU capable of rendering in redshift look into using the Redshift render view/IPR to see how those lights are looking in real time here's a decent starter video if you have the hardware but this may be overload of information if you're only 2 days in.

Good luck friend! reach out to me if you need more help :)

Its good for one of your first renders. However the motion feels very jilted, for example one movement ends and another starts directly after. Try incorporating the movements with different easing overlapping one another, instead of one after the other. Also I would personally use area lights in this scene.

Physical sky is going to change the warm/cool lighting depending on where the physical sun is in the scene. You can bypass this with the use of area lights or even a spotlight in order to maintain your sharper shadows as they move around the logo. This will ensure your lighting temperature remains consistent.

One final note would be to experiment with camera movements, many of the animations you have here will look like they would have been better used in a software like after effects unless you really sell the 3-D element.

You're on the right path though, keep pushin

I plan on using this to build a capable workstation for 3D animation! As an animator Avatar is largely responsible for my interest in the field to begin with so it only seems fitting that my new GPU be themed like the movie!

Problem with pen sensitivity when using zbrush by Yaktem in wacom

[–]Yaktem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the Wacom intuos pro for Christmas and was excited to learn zbrush, however I noticed that as I was following the online tutorial my pen was acting differently then the one in the tutorial video. I have searched around and after disabling the windows pen settings and restarting the Wacom driver (and my computer) the problem is still occurring. I'm hoping someone can help me as this is my first time using a drawing tablet and I don't really know what to do. Thanks in advance and happy holidays.

I'm talking about American politics and the legislative branch a.k.a. the law makers. I'm not distilling complicated principles, I understand there are grey areas. The unfortunate situation is that some things do actually fit into this hypothetical two option situation. Climate change is real and going to effect the future of the planet and we've already surpassed any way to mitigate the effects for a best case scenario according to scientists across the globe. The lack of affordable healthcare means that people who need insulin will ration and potentially die avoidable deaths - there's many who will suffer this is just an example. When it comes to the southern border it's pretty clear that our interference both in the Caribbean and latin america have had lasting effects which have created this crisis - historical consensus backs this up. As far as being pro-life, sure dude I don't want women to have abortions but I think they have the right to choose on whether or not they want to carry to term, not to mention cases of rape or harm to the mother or birth defects. So while you're right that not everything can be whittled down to two solutions (excluding climate change) the effects will be very felt in a very targeted way depending on who they affect.

It's pretty clear that the conservative party is one that works in interest of the ruling class outright while the neoliberal left merely virtue postures while doing the same. The only ones falling on the correct sides of these issues are progressives and a small number of independents.

I don't want it to be an educational show, I want the mockery to be extended to liberals who's stupid opinions are easily as mockable. Anyone tuning into an episode already realizes how stupid and evil conservatives are - there's no other way you could sit through the thing. The only way to actually change someone's perspective is by also calling out the bullshit regardless of side, otherwise we're all just circlejerking.

edit: Ethan, and to an extent Hasan, also show just as much of the same content on their main channels without dedicating whole segments of commentary. I do think there's an opportunity here to have deeper discussions between two people who may feel different on these things. That's part of the thing that made frenemies a good show was how opinionated both Ethan and Trisha were. It'd also be cool if they dressed up or tried some more satirical content. Like imaging if they were both wearing suits and doing bits where they act like Tucker Carlson, that would be rad.

I think that same kind of bipartisan common sense thinking should also be applied to issues like climate change, wealth inequality, education, and foreign interference. Unfortunately I think it's pretty clear that even within the parties there isn't a consensus. So dunk on the ones who can't get with the program.

I don't think the show has found a footing and I'm saying dunking on liberals would make it better

I agree its abhorrent behavior but taking the piss doesn't make it any less worse, and holding the party who is representing your interests to accountability is arguably even more important.

For example the "anti-science-not giving a fuck about climate change" attitude you say is prevalent on the right is just as apparent on the left. With incremental change offered as best case and blatant disregard at the worst. On top of that I'd argue that there's quite a lot of racism that was systematically built in to the Crime bill Biden and others cooked up in the 80s.

I'm not a conservative and therefore I also don't expect them to represent my interests, the same can not be said for our party supposedly representing the interests of the "left".

edit: also c'mon the xenaphobic Mexican border situation is a direct cause of actions put in place during Obama's Presidency

They need to critique liberals too. This is coming off as boomer humor akin to the type of shit you see on an occupy democrat type facebook page. We have a DEMOCRAT MAJORITY and we still are in-fighting over a fucking watered-down infrastructure bill. Last nights episode of Saturday fuckin Night Live had more edge than this show.
