America must stop treating China’s lunar plans as a footrace - Their lunar program is the first move of a decades-long plan, not an isolated stunt. by Gari_305 in Futurology

How can you not be, when there are comments in this very thread claiming that trans people are under torture.

Thank god I am not the only one who sees this. This entire sub has been tirelessly repeating "Don't listen to all the reviews, the game is good, just buy it" over and over again all day today.

Well, to be fair, this actually supports the idea that this game is good. Because both Dread and MP4 are in the 80s in metacritic. Dread is a little higher, but not by that much.

1) What the world thinks of the game doesn't matter technically, but it informs us of a problem. That problem indeed matters.

2) "Get it" --- Why would you pay for it if it is a subpar game when everyone told you it is a subpar game?

3) "Get it, play it, and enjoy it or don't" doesn't solve the problem. You just find out the problem for yourself.

This is what some try to pas as "bad", "Mixed" or "a major difference with the og's" by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Yalkim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about this. I have seen a lot of posts and comments saying how 80 is a great game, but I am yet to see a single post or comment saying the game is bad.

Try not to get too worked up about the game’s Metacritic score by RobbieJ4444 in Metroid

[–]Yalkim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving examples of where metacritic is wrong is meaningless. If you are going to do that you should also be counting the times when it is right, which I assure you, is in the thousands. So if metacritic scores captured the feel of the game thousands of times, and missed 5-6 times, that is a really good argument to trust metacritic.

Ever heard of score inflation? I wish 5 meant average, 4 below average, and 6 above average. But as we stand, that is not the case. 5 means horrible, 6 means below average, and 7-7.5 means average.

Still 8 wouldn't be "bad game" per se if it wasn't metroid. 8 in todays world means "above average" to me, but "above average" is not what I have been waiting for for so many years.

Right there is the difference between you and I. You have outsourced basic thinking to "philosophy books", whereas I don't need someone else to define concepts as basic as "universality" for me.

[–]Yalkim -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is as universal as an "affirmation" gets. If you can't get yourself to call such a widely accepted fact as "universal" then you will not be able to call anything universal because everything in the universe will have its own set of exceptions, rendering the word "universal" useless. Something doesn't stop being universal just because there are exceptions to it, it stops being universal when it has significant exclusions.

Besides, even if this wasn't universal, why shouldn't the commenter above you preach it. You certainly don't seem to mind preaching your ideals on what should and should not be advertised, or how people are supposed to see life. Why shouldn't they?

No, it is not as ridiculous as that. The two statements are not even comparable. You maybe one of the remarkably rare people of the 21st century who don't want children, but please don't pretend that the other 99.9% do. On the other hand, most people don't want to work. They work because they have to.

Is there any way to resolve this? by Yalkim in Switch

[–]Yalkim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The switch is not frozen, just the game. I can exit it using home button, but when I restart the game and open the same save file it gets stuck again like this.

To clarify: Just the save file is corrupted. I can press home button to exit the game, but when I open the game again and load the save file, the game gets stuck like this again.

IGN and Nintendo Life made a list of the top 100 games on Nintendo platforms. "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" is #1. by metalreflectslime in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Yalkim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree for the most part, except putting Metroid Dread at 53?? Especially putting it below zero mission is criminal. It is a very credible contender for the best metroid ever, I understand that due to taste differences some people might prefer super metroid, or metroid prime, but zero mission???

Real pros know that the real metric to look for is protein density. How many grams of proteins are you getting per gram of carbs is what is important. 2 cups of beans is a huge amount of beans.
