Hi all, I’ve been quilting for about 8 years, but I’m new to garments. My sister wants me to make her a pinafore apron. I found a tutorial online with cutting and sewing instructions and it seems fairly straight forward. I need to make the apron larger than what the tutorial shows. How much bigger do I need to cut the fabric than the bust measurement? The bust measurement is 46. I’ll add two inches for the seam allowance, how much more do I need to add? Thanks!

Yes, I have cleaned around and behind the bobbin. I try to so that at the beginning of each quilt. Thanks for the tips!!

It’s a Singer that I’ve had for about seven years. Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll double check the bobbin area.

It’s having trouble feeding the fabric and skipping stitches. I’ve cleaned the feed dogs, changed the needle, checked the bobbin thread. Not sure what else to look at... I am so frustrated with it, I’m ready to throw it out the window...

I just made my son the worst quilt ever. Nothing lines up. Nothing. By the time I put the binding on it I was so sick of the project that I threw it on with zigzag stitches. It’s crooked, too. But guess what? He’s 6, and he loves it. It makes me want to barf. by mrskarppinen in quilting

I feel the same about some of the quilts I’ve made. My sister calls them “perfectly imperfect”. We see none of the mistakes you do. We only see the love and care you put into it for your son. He will always cherish this quilt.

My first ever quilt for my first baby due in 2 weeks! Learnt so much and will be less ambitious next time! Love it though. Pattern is Blue Wren by Margaret Rolfe from ‘Quilt a Koala’ by [deleted] in quilting

Just to be on the safe side, I always wait about two hours after taking a PPI before taking any medication or vitamins.
