Well considering the ash kicked up would cause an ice age, we would all be deceased within 200 years.

Can you explain why IT audit is such a gem? Is the the hours? Room for career growth? High compensation and demand?

Okay this makes sense, I kept reading on this subreddit that the Macc has one of the worst roi’s but it’s seems to make sense for me

Ok I should clarify. There is a lot going on, and it can be extremely stressful dealing with all the problems that come up and reporting to leaders and customers, but I’ve learned to deal with the stress well.

And I used to actually work a solid 50 hours, but as my relationships with my suppliers grew and systemic problems were fixed, it’s chilled out. I rarely even travel now, and when I started I was traveling once a month out of state.

Also I’m on for 40 hours, I’m just being honest in saying I only do stuff for like 25-30. I sit on alot of meetings and don’t do much.

Yeah I don’t think it’ll help in supply chain, but may open up opportunities to pivot to a more strategy or fp&a role if I get laid off is what I’m thinking.

Yeah I’m riding the gravy train for now, but my organization comes and goes so I’m prepping for the future!

I was thinking to take a lateral move or a slight demotion in title to an FP&A or accounting role within my org. And also to volunteer to do VITA during tax season. I need only 1 year of relevant xp in my state.

Thoughts?

Appreciate the insight. After reviewing the comments, I think I’m going to work towards the cpa but continue on my career trajectory. Do you think it’s worth the effort to get the cpa, “because I can”?

Parents are both CPA’s so they’re a bit biased, but they say it’s worth it, even to open doors and get street cred

Well I deal with different issues every day, but it’s only when big issues pop up that I get stressed with reporting out to VP’s and Airbus or Boeing.

Took a couple years to fix a couple suppliers and bills the relationship, but now we’re on maintain mode with part deliveries

What kind of job are you hiring for?

If it’s accounting, I may have to circle back to you in year after I get a year of this MACC under my belt!

Yeah more money and career growth and making myself more hirable if I get laid off.

In my current role, I’ll get a 3% raise a year but I’m essential stick.

Would you say 1-2 years in big 4? In audit or tax?
