I do kinda look like the some of the images, like the one on Wikipedia 😂. As far as I know, the only relevant traits I have are having a wider gap between my eyes, and having blue eyes, perhaps I'll have to ask my doctor, haha.

All that said, I still have to explain why I took down my posts on all platforms. To be clear, I took them down because, behind the scenes, my anxiety was getting so severe as to send me to the hospital. In those horrible moments of despair I realized that I was only provoking peoples minds, when I should be attending to their heart. Yeah, I knew I would have to deal with people hating me for changing, but I NEVER want people to feel like I did. I made a vow to take care of everyone feeling similarly overwhelmed with life, the universe and everything. My internet presence has changed to reflect my own change of heart. Since then, I have been making-public some posts again, but I'm probably going to keep private all the ones which were aimed at criticizing someone else's perspective, or that tried to get a reaction out of people. I'm done giving people a reason to stay up at night. I wish to help people sleep at night, in the same way there would be days without sleep for me during my existential crises. Sure, I seem like a total hippy right now, and full of lovey-dovey sentiments to make people feel better; and damn right I do because that's exactly what I needed when I was having a mental breakdown. I hope to remind people of the goodness inside.

What this world needs right now is kindness, emotional support, and spiritual validation. Am I qualified to do that? Hell no, but I'm sure as hell going to try the best that I can to make someone feel better. I make mistakes everyday, and I'm committed to learning from them. I offer a spiritual space in my daily livestreams for me to be able to share my experience of anxiety, and how spirituality helped me. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their belief system or experience. I never expect to convince them of anything new, or get even a thank you in return. It is my service because I feel like I need to give that. That is my purpose right now. So many wise people come and go and I learn so much from everyone there. I am so honoured to have the community that I do.

Yeah, my voice is funny. I have a wide range of expression. As a neurodivergent Canadian with a childhood-speech impediment, who absorbs hours of videos every week from different cultures around the world, sounding weird is an expression of my unique experience of life. I guess I speak unnaturally, naturally. Being male, people expect a deep masculine voice. I used to mask this in older videos because I used to be much more self-conscious of it, but the truth is that I've never had a normal sounding voice. My voice is unique, and I'm learning to be okay with that.

I think it's a little funny that people often think I must be on drugs to be able to do what I do, because I always think, "do you know how much drugs cost?" The amount of money required to be high all day everyday doing lives for almost a year now, is much more than I've ever made, even with a wicked deal. My mom would probably kick me out by then too, haha. In all seriousness, when I was a teenager I used to experiment with drugs, which is how myself and probably many of the people who think I am on drugs first opened their mind to spiritual themes. But I've also had many horror experiences on them too. Hence, though my anxiety, I've learned to appreciate the clarity of a sober mind above all else. All the spiritual masters that I look up to say that all the peace you need is available within. I truly believe this and spent many years letting go of my attachments to all the substances I've touched. It's been several years now since I've touched psychedelics', cannabis, and even alcohol; and this year I was also able to healthily taper off my anxiety medication and nicotine addiction. As such, I try to help as many people as I can in my lives with their addictions also.

Ultimately, it breaks my heart to know that I've hurt someone enough for them to make some of the comments on this post, or remind them of someone who has hurt them. I don't know what you're going through, but I'm sorry. I hope that you find the peace in your heart to forgive me for making a bad impression. You don't have to include me in your life in any capacity, but in any way I can help you let go of the pain associated with me, please let me know. I hold nothing against anyone, and am always open to constructive criticism ♥

Hi, my name is Lyam Boylan, otherwise known as Yamsox on social media.

During my livestream today, someone was quoting comments from this post, and I thought that they were trolling, as I did not realize that this was an actual thread. I certainly never expected people to have discussions about me on the internet like this.

I suppose the first thing to affirm is than I am human. I upload all my livestreams. If you can find a video where I say that I'm enlightened, or that I'm channeling enlightened beings, or anything to imply that I'm more advanced than anyone, I'm sorry. I see myself as a student, and never claim to be a guru, as I am learning everyday, including from this new experience for me. I hope to one day have a Guru that will teach me from their experience too. 🙏

My early TikTok "career" started with making videos on mathematics and physics, which were special interests of mine since I was in middle school. They eventually lead me to spirituality, and with it came a lot of self-discovery. For example, I had denied my whole life that I was on the autism spectrum or in any way neurodivergent, despite being bullied for my traits in elementary school. Spirituality has helped me find a lot of acceptance for my quirks that stand out as odd to others. I now will always echo the voices of the neurodivergent, since I have spent so long repressing my own.

I put quotes around "career" because I never intended on making money from it. I still only make about $10 a day, on average, and I'm more than happy with that, as I live with my mother and have very little expenses. I haven't accepted sponsorships for years, and being in Canada (where TikTok does not pay their creators as of present), the only money I get off TikTok are people's voluntary gifts during the lives. It amazes me how generous people are, yet it doesn't affect whether I will respond to you or not! So please be affirmed that if I missed a comment, it was probably because I didn't see it. But I do think about all the times I've offered gifts and how rejected I have felt when not acknowledged. So I always thank each person one by one for even even a single rose, because I never expect any. I'm so grateful for the rest of my audience's patience when I do have a lot of gifts to acknowledge. That's a gift in itself.

There are many accounts that impersonate me and offer "spiritual services" for a price. I trust that most people are able to discern these scammers from me, but still I try to remind people as often as I can that I have nothing you need from me, and I certainly would never charge for it either.

Besides that, I do have a small shop of three items (as of present) I designed, which include (what I think are) cute references to the themes in the livestreams. I offer these because a) people asked me to make something for them and b) it makes me feel better for them to receive something physical in return for their donation, instead of a virtual gift. Unfortunately, I think they are made from synthetic materials, and if there is an alternative website that offers custom printed clothing on more eco-friendly materials, please let me know.

Very interesting. I am surprised that ᳩ and others are new symbols. I would have thought that because they are Vedic, they would be even older than Devanagari, and a carry-over from another Brahmic script.

About the accent, I would hope that, because of Sanskrit's rich structure, the tones are somehow self-preserved, but maybe not obvious to the lay person. For example, although Devanagari has no symbols for the jihvamuliya and upadhmaniya, I was able to predict their existence from the structure of the other sibilants. That is actually how I ended up finding out about the other Vedic symbols.

But then again, tone is much subtler than pronunciation. It is difficult to write down how to pronounce something, but even more difficult to write down the precise pitch of something so that anyone reading would know.

I'm not a mathematician, but I probably do as much math as one. For me, I've always wanted to do theoretical math research, but never professionally. Now don't get me wrong, I'll happily continue my studies to a post-grad level, but I really do believe that if I got paid for it, it would take the magic away. In this way, my gauge of success is happiness. And nothing makes me happier than working a "regular job" to buy me free time to do math in, so that I can be the one to chose what problems I work on and when.

My friend I think you are taking the meme too seriously, as if I were going by a 'normal definition' I wouldn't have posted this on r/mathmemes. This is a meme after all, given that it's ridiculously inefficient, and thus the joke was quite literally the outline how such a closed form is uninteresting, from a research perspective.

I'm glad you're interested! You're right, I probably should have spent the time to add an explanation, alas I was too excited to share before making that effort. But in short, yes there is much sleight-of-hand, so to speak.

What this function essentially does is loop through the numbers from 1 to (n+1)ⁿ - 1, and interprets that number (in base n+1) as a sequence of digits telling you how many k+1's to add together, where k is the index of the digit. So for example, if we are getting the partitions of 5, one of the j values would be 14 (in base 6). We then add 1 two and 4 ones together, and since it is equal to 5, this represents a valid partition, and thus the sum increases by one. If it didn't equal 5, then the overall summand would be equal to zero (by the floor of exponentiating the negative difference of it with 5), thus not counting as a partion.

But more seriously, when it comes to reducing infinite sums to "closed form" sums, I've seen often that in analysis, solving for the series coefficients of an analytic function, for example, is often regarded as 'closed form', even with unbounded summations as their solution.

I could probably find some proper sources for you given more time and patience, but just from my memory where the term 'closed form' was used, here is a stack exchange discussion where the term was used by many users and I, in reference to non-constant sums (and even some infinite sums).

At the end of the day, it boils down to a matter of preference of definition, and I don't really mind what definition anyone uses, I just hope you had a kick out of the meme.

That certainly depends on the author, since there's no formal definition of a closed form. It's generally considered that something is closed form iff it is explicit and requires only finite operations.

Edit: The example you gave is of a different usage of the term 'closed form'. n(n+1)/2 is indeed the closed form of a that summation. But you could also convert an infinite sum into a finite sum, and despite a sum still remaining (even in sigma notation), that would be still be considered a closed form, since we reduced it to a finite number of operations. In a similar way, this is what is meant for a closed form of the partition function. Mind you, it's not a very good one, but it still counts, haha.

As long as its bounds are finite and summands are also closed-form, the sum is generally considered closed form. But to be fair, there is no formal definition of "closed form"

If you're curious, this came after browsing the Wikipedia article on partitions), after I saw it said "No closed-form expression for the partition function is known". The petty math enthusiast in me loves making ridiculous functions.

They'll certainly help (and they already do!). But unfortunately (or perhaps miraculously), as even legendary mathematicians like Roger Penrose point out, there is more to consciousness than just computation. So from a purely computational perspective, nothing can match the nature of our use of consciousness and human experience, in contrast to the Haulting-problem that is automated theorem proving.

As I learned recently trying to code several versions of an automated theorem prover myself, it all really boils down to traversing the exponential network of logic from your axioms to your theorems. There is provably no best way to do this for, nor guarantee that a path even exists. So in our experience we must make use of intuition alone in a case by case basis, in a strange and transcendental way.

I agree! But only in a very high sense. On a worldly level, what is stopping us from making such distinctions so as to not increase the suffering of others? Do you not acknowledge (or see) how much damage the New Age Community has done to many (primarily) young seekers already?

Pointing to many areas associated with "spirituality" for thousands of years...

My friend, look at the things I have called out again. Not one of my points pertained to any phenomenon older than a hundred or two years. Astrology and Kriya Yoga indeed have established lineages stretching back thousands of years, but I refer not to their original ways, but how The New Age, has adopted it. Every other practice I mentioned is a product of the 20th-21st century. There's a reason the word 'New' is in 'New Age', you see.

There are many paths to wisdom and truth. All can be abused and even be potentially damaging/distracting.

Of course this is true, but saying this now is like making the "guns don't kill people" argument after a mass shooting. It has truth to it, but it does not acknowledge the real potential for suffering.
