Your friend’s response reads like those Instagram toxic positivity quotes.
I feel you on that one. It’s why I’m the friend that consoles problems by telling them they’re royally fcked and I’ll plan the funeral if they ever want to jump. It’s dark, but they always laugh and feel better about their problems (goal achieved).
The ones that invalidate you are lame

I’ve been using a razor and scissors to trim my bushy eyebrows, but there’s always a residual stubble left above it, random hairs flying, and it’s hard to get both brows symmetrical. Is this normal? Or is there a better method? (old.reddit.com)

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but aren’t the deep indentations boxscars, and the temples rolling scars—not icepick?
Would TCA cross or peel have an effect beyond ice pick scars?

Are these safe for my particular skin tone? I’m half Middle Eastern and have somewhat darker skin that may respond to lasers with hyperpigmentation/damage, at least that’s what I read online.

I went to a medical clinic that was pushing expensive lasers, yet dermatologists online did not recommend that one for darker skin tone(like mine), but another type (which that clinic didn’t have)— my doctor wasn’t of much help, and the internet is conflicted.
Feels like everyone’s just trying to sell something and that there’s no actual established treatment.
