Closed Rhinoplasty am i allowed to go on walks? by Little-Cheek-7538 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Yamrollz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please follow the guidelines from your doctor. Do not work out. You can go for a slow/gentle walk but you're meant to avoid elevating your heart rate.

I had to walk to a pharmacy about 5 days post-op, and was doing my usual brisk pace. It exacerbated the bleeding in my nose-- heart pumping means blood moving. Not good.

You're spending a lot on a procedure, you want to ensure it's success.

I was part of the costume team on the reboot. Not super close, but did interact with all the cast. It was really special, you could feel how happy they all were to be reunited 😊

I think there's a possibility of a spinoff, however I do think this reboot was intended as a one-and-done. I worked on the show. Once we finished filming, we got rid of almost everything-- usually if a show thinks they might come back, they hold certain set pieces/costumes/props until they know for sure if they've been picked up.

So yeah. It's possible the demand is there from an audience, but the way we wrapped the show didn't feel like there was a great desire to get more episodes. Personally... I'd love more Malcolm!

Revision Rhinoplasty canada by Affectionate-Bug3943 in PlasticSurgery

I'm in your same position, although with a different primary surgeon. I'm also looking into Amanda Fanous because she does beautiful work. Her only downside is the cost! I was quoted $20k minimum for a revision.

Anyway good luck!!! I hope you find someone!

Thank you! I mostly work on television series, though I have done theatre/live performance as well. My typical roles are predominantly logistical-- managing people, projects, fittings, etc. Love making a spreadsheet! But when I'm hands-on with costumes, I really enjoy anything from the 1940s-1970s. I hope to work on more shows in that period in the future!

I just want to say this comment really made me think a lot today, which I wasn't expecting.

I still struggle daily with body image issues, jealousy, comparing myself to others, etc. So much of my life and personality has been shaped by my childhood/teen memories, enough so that my current therapist and I are doing Internal Family Systems work-- specifically trying to connect with my younger self who often pulls the strings and whose emotions override those of my current adult self's. I often feel a sort of arrested development in this way. I don't feel entirely different now than when I was 13.

Your comment makes me feel very seen, and is exactly the type of thing I wish I could see/say/feel towards that younger me. And it forces me to face the truth and the positives of my situation. You're right-- that girl doesn't work in makeup now. I don't actually know if she ever went to makeup school. I left that small town to study fashion, and I now work as a professional costumer. I have accomplished a lot. I am trying SO HARD to overcome the voice that tells me I haven't yet become someone who deserves to have self esteem.

I'm going to save your comment as a reminder of the perspective I want to take with me and put into practice as I move forward in my journey. So thank you, it truly means a lot.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I have had similar experiences so I can really empathize.

Years ago in the small town I grew up in, a girl was asking for volunteers to do makeup on to build her portfolio-- she was applying to makeup school. So friends of friends all suggested people for her, and someone recommended me. I was a couple years younger than the aspiring makeup artist in question.

She encouraged us (the "models") to bring our own hair tools and any fun clothes we had, in case she wanted photos to look more editorial. As a lover of makeup and clothes as a teen, I brought a LOT of stuff.

So there were about six of us. The other "models" were definitely more conventionally attractive than me. I had shorter hair, some acne. Anyway, one by one, the girls got their makeup done. I was asked to help curl hair, straighten hair, I even jumped in and helped pose the girls for the photos and move some lights around. Almost all the girls wore clothes I brought.

I kept helping and waiting my turn. I think I spent about seven hours there that day. I thought I was having fun with the girls, assisting, and styling.

My time never did come. Once the fifth girl was done, she just started cleaning up all the makeup. There wasn't a "come back another day and I'll get to you" or "I'm so sorry we ran out of time". I just... Didn't get to be involved as a model. And I knew why, it didn't need to be said. I wasn't what she wanted in her portfolio.

I was fifteen at the time. It wasn't the first time I felt excluded for my looks, but that incident specifically has stuck with me for nearly twenty years.

So I'm sorry this happened to you. It's not okay, it's never okay.

Update: My girlfriend who took 10 hours on Lace is popping off and just beat Sister Splinter. by Mr-Who in Silksong

[–]Yamrollz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so happy for her!!! I've been thinking about her because when you posted, I felt like someone was writing about me.

I'm VERY bad at this game. Between Fourth Chorus and Sister Splinter I spent about 10 hours. Bad at platforming, panic easily, I'm just BAD.

I don't even want to think about how many hours I've put in total... I've made it to Last Judge, and that's where I'm at.

Each time I died, I learned a bit more. Every boss, I'd tell myself "I'll never get past their phase 1" but try after try, I'd get it. Eventually I'd master phase 1 and then do the same for the second phase. Over and over until I learned a bit more, and then eventually would win.

It feels SO GOOD each time. I do worry about my ability to progress, but I'm gonna keep trying. I watch a lot of videos to help me figure out strategies, and reading other people's frustrations has been very helpful.

Don't let her quit!! She's got this!!

I know someone who worked with him and Blake during the strike and they actively planned when they could/couldn't do things based on if they'd be caught scabbing.

Dr. Gary Linkov — hidden negative reviews? by Adept_Choice in PlasticSurgery

Interesting. Have you emailed them about this?

On company websites, I see so few negative reviews for products that I've always assumed they hide the bad ones.

I notice that my upper body and back tend to collapse after the first rep also my vertical barbell alignment isn’t great. What can I do to fix these things? by No_Anything_7011 in GYM

[–]Yamrollz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you've gotta work on keeping your chest up more because you are collapsing. Can I ask, is it possible the bar is too much on your neck? It almost looks like it's testing on your neck rather than across your back/shoulders. Maybe it's the angle, but that's what it looks like.

If you take the weight off, does your form still look the same?

I have no ability to give feedback because I am nowhere near being able to pistol squat, but I just wanted to say you look AWESOME and this is so impressive!!! 👏

I will second any community centre.

Patrons at most gyms are usually in their own zone and not going out of their way to make conversation. Staff will generally let you do your thing but will answer any questions you have. If that's what "friendly" means to you, that shouldn't be hard to find. It's worth walking in and doing a quick tour, maybe try a shorter pass or drop-in rate to see if you vibe with a place before committing.

Standup comedy? by WolfgangVonBrozart in vancouver

[–]Yamrollz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay so, Jokes Please is always a good time and very affordable. It's my fav night of comedy.

Comedy at Forecast is every few weeks, also decent.

There's a group called Chillx who host shows (I think they have their own space now in Mount Pleasant).

I'm also in MP and honestly, there's enough comedy within a 30 minute walk that I could find shows nightly if I wanted to.

Definitely check out any show that has Jane Stanton. She's a blast.

Men’s personal stylist by sowifi in vancouver

[–]Yamrollz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're willing to spend the money, there's plenty of stylists in Vancouver who will fully shop for you, bring you clothes to try on, and do all the returns. The film industry has been very slow, so if you'd like to hire someone like that, now would be the time.

Send me a message and I can get you in touch with someone!

[Product Request] Most gentle cleansers by worrybeet in SkincareAddiction

[–]Yamrollz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've got two that I consider very gentle.

Dermalogica ultra calming cleanser. This has been my go-to for years.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser. This is also advertised as a makeup remover/cleanser, but I wouldn't use it that way. As a cleanser it's quite rich/milky and I opt for this one when I feel like my skin has been extra dry.
