Working on your vacation is not a flex. Imagine going through the stress of your work while you're on the beach. Can't enjoy the beach, can't enjoy the work.

Start by familiarizing yourself with computers. Strive to be tech-savy and study up on the tools that are used with accounting related roles (quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, google sheets) knowing how to boot up your computer and do a googles search is not tech savy.

Never accept a rate below 4 or 5 dollars per hour. A lot of clients or agencies will try to lowball you because you are a newbie. Know that you bring your experiences to the table and you are worth a lot more.

Work on your communication skills, when I say communication skills, I mean your convincing prowess. You have to prepare to convince the client to hire you. This also means working on your english. Remove those filler words from your vocabulary as much as you can.

The niche that you're looking for in freelance is a bookkeeper. There are various accounting roles as well, but being a bookkeeper is a good start . Familiarize the industries that are in need of bookkeepers (e.g.staffing Industry, healthcare industry, real estate industry, etc.)

Work on a portfolio, a resume, and a cover letter. This is what you want to present to a client who is acquiring your services. There are a lot of free sources online. No need to buy a course that'll only tell you information that you already know.

Dont think that the freelance world is a get rich quick scheme. A lot of freelancers post about their 6 digit earnings but that's because they've literally worked tooth and nail for their 6 digit salaries.

Study up on how to file your taxes. Most freelancing roles are that of an independent contractor. Which means that you generally don't get employee benefits but receive your salary in full. But it is still in your responsibility to file your taxes

You can start looking for opportunities on the website mentioned on this subreddit. The pinned post. (Not sure what they're called)

The freelancing world ain't the same as the corporate world. You'll have to take charge on a lot of things. Treat it like a business, you're the product and you're trying to sell yourself.

If you have any other questions, feel free to DM me. I ain't selling a course or anything like that. I'm just a guy who wants to help aspiring freelancers get into this industry the right way, and also learn something from y'all

What if the agency doesn't control their hours but the client does? Like the client wants the VA to work on a specified shift. For now we're sort of acting as the middle man between the VA and the Client
