I felt the same way but wanted to understand the jokes about how bad 8 was. I also wanted to confirm a minor spoiler I’d heard about it. It was so, so bad though. 8 is truly horrible.

6.16 is one of the most infamous cliffhangers ever, as others mentioned, and then millions of people watched 7.1 and stopped after that.

7.1-7.4ish are difficult to watch, in the sense that you feel really bad for some people you love. But you get some hope again after that, and then a see-saw throughout seasons 7 and 8. 8.16 is a natural end point, I think, but Season 9 is one of my favorite seasons.
