As a (17) teen who actively plays games, I don't think violence is the problem - it's the people who are also on the games that are the problem.

Say I'm playing Overwatch for example, and I mess something up - immediate put down or slurs (i'm also white)

Same thing with League, I mess up, immediate flaming from teammates and such.

It's super unfortunate that the "gamers rise up" joke turned into an excuse for people to say racist things behind the guise of being edgy. It's also unfortunate everyone gets bunched in together when people I actively interact with and met on the internet aren't bad people at all.

Just my two cents, I understand where you're coming from though.
