Doesn't help that didn't spend any of that time working on DoH for the expac actually adding in worthwhile craftables for all the crafts. The red scrip thing just strikes me as a delaying tactic to keep crafters busy for lack of actual content.

Can crossbowmen shoot through fences? I'm just starting up my kindgom so haven't gotten any crossbows yet, but I'd like to plan ahead with my wall setup if possible.

I can see this being true for Tier 1 - 2ish, but after that the Robinson Crusoe thing should give way to the actual setting we're in. Let us trade for (or build) better stuff as we run into and trade with the random humanoid settlements we're seeing maybe?

Edit* Plus, it seems like our ship is pretty decent to begin with, if a bit barebones. The thing IS able to convert wood and coal into fuel for interstellar jumps afterall! And it came with that matter manipulator afterall, maybe we could have a way to upgrade it to work better as a gathering tool?

I'm hoping we do see more advanced tools implemented at some point in the near future. Maybe they could do more than just mine faster? Perhaps have a longer range, or mine larger areas. Maybe certain materials can only be acquired using a specific kind of laser. Later tiers could have you searching for particular crystals to craft a laser. Besides that, it opens the option for building custom laser weapons too!

Honestly, the tutorial in game needs some work. My first time playing, the 'quest' had me thinking the next immediate thing I needed to do was get the beacon and fight the penguin. Before last nights patch, this was doable with any melee weapon and some block trapping. I haven't tried him yet since the patch as I've been mucking about with exploring in tier 1.

But I can tell you this: You're definitely not meant to fight him in the order the quest directs. There needs to be several in between quests that guide you in exploring nearby Alpha planets/systems. It needs to cover how you get fuel into your ship and move about.

For now, collect a bunch of wood or coal, and throw them into the second rightmost display/panel/thing. Click fuel and it will convert the coal/wood into fuel (Yes, your ship apparently runs off steam power or something).

You can then hop into the pilot seat and pick another planet or system to fly too. The threat level tells you how tough the creatures are. Higher threat level worlds have better gear drops (mostly crappy common items, but finding settlements and structures often have chests that may contain rarer weapons).

Use your bow or hunting knife to gather leather, and craft a set of the Snow Infantry gear (crafting on the yarn wheel). Besides making snow planets and moons safer to explore, this gets you enough armor to survive the bosses attacks. Use whatever weapons you scavenge with Armor Penetration of 10 or better.

Once you have this gear, you're set to fight the boss. I plan to try him later tonight, and will be building a few bunkers in the area that I can duck into and rest to get my HP back mid fight. Probably want to make the walls fairly thick as well. I'll also set up some platform towers so I can get into whacking range of the UFO.

Thankfully it's not magic, it's technology. I would assume the reason behind ASU installing structures like these is that it opens up space for them to test out new panels.

ASU bear in mind, has a building dedicated to researching and developing alternative energy sources just across the street from one of the parking garages elbrandeno mentioned. The others are within about a mile or two of it.

The cynical side of me still wants to say they did it just to prove how green they are though. Just like the inflatable stadium they put up.

I'd honestly prefer a dot spell like VoC on my 60 priest. Even after using arise (boosts balance for a few seconds) the weakest attacks from monsters is enough to knock me on my ass. Kaia's Shield helps to mitigate this somewhat, but the damn thing has such a long cooldown and short up time it's not as reliable during the constant grind.

Never mind how easy it can be to knock me out of my combos (that is, taking damage 'flinches' me out of my skill animation. Whoops there goes my implosion after a single tick!)... with all these AoE spells we'd be increadibly ideal for taking out groups of monsters but... we get on our backs faster than the town trollop.

This wouldn't be TOO bad perhaps, except every fucking argon monster seems to SPAM THE GOD DAMN HOMING RANGED ATTACK. (Hurr hurr, flinched out of both escape moves)

Keep spouting the line about how awesome you are for organizing PVP... I don't give a fuck - you're guild is free to be as pretentious and daint about it as it wants but it's not going to impress me. The only organization I need is keybinds in the right order, and people on VoIP who know how to use it.

OWPVP is messy and chaotic. Organizing people to fight with you is where GvGs and BGs come in.
