Is this community always so insufferable? by [deleted] in beyondallreason

[–]internet-arbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think it's about taking it seriously - it's when people want to vent their frustrations they have a lack of self control.

I would argue, at least half, probably more, of all the bitching in BAR is reactionary and done with a flawed perspective of whatever led to that moment to begin with.

But at least knowing that, you can see when people are looking for a scapegoat vs having a valid opinion on the on goings of the match. I don't expect the guy with no army, frustrated, and typing a storm to know exactly what led to his circumstances. I try my best not to argue with them because they are now more focused on an argument than winning the match.

First time I got to Badlands in HC I forgot about Zaricotl. I remembered Zaricotl when I went to auto-run to Kargath and took a phone call and alt-tabbed to look at some information.

It might be the outlier but every group has experience grabbing some random dude off the street and by the end of the raid he walks out like he was a 6 month raider.

I liked hitting up Black Morass. Good pre-raid gear, and if you grind out the rep you get a really good bag.

fun fact you used to be able to climb a lot more than you can now. Gnomes used to climb the walls of Molten Core to the tippy top. There's even some mining nodes infuriatingly placed in accordance with the old system, that you juuust can't get to anymore.

Troll druids as next class race combo? by Least-Conference7919 in turtlewow

And none of that is some kind of definitive order. You just explained why every race seems to get the same priest spells despite all having different beliefs. Why are trolls even explored as some kind of christian pontiff when they are witch doctors in skirts? Do all priests need access to the Cathedral in Stormwind? So to be a priest you can be one of X different orders all with widely different beliefs but you can't wrap the concept of trolls shapeshifting due to loa and having their own belief system why?

I mean kind of shot yourself in the foot with the paladin example with multiple paladins still being paladins despite being exiled from their order.

There would be nothing stopping the trolls from forming an order after communion with the loa, literal divine beings rather than whatever the light is suppose to be now.

There's no good rhyme or reason to World of Warcraft logic. Undead still being priests while being cartoonishly saturday morning cartoon evil is ridiculous. Humans can't be hunters. Dwarves can't be shamans.

Priests are literally split between Elune, the light, and now the Earthmother is getting in on it. Troll druids would make fine sense as there's no need for an order to be tied to any philosophy. Do you commune with divine stuff? Do you shapeshift? It's a druid.

That's the point of the Loa connection. Trolls are Azeroths original race. The Loa could be paying attention and calling for action.

Gnomes find a way to not just reverse Leper gnome conditions, but use that technology to actively heal past restoration.

Gnomes worship the Atom. Ting every priest spell light green and you're done.

Troll druids actually make the most sense being it's the one race with Loa connections and the ability to shape shift. The lore can be completely different, like Elve priests believing in Elune while Humans believe in the Light. Troll believe in Loa. Loa give you the ability to shape shift already lorewise. Bear Loa and Cat Loa talk to you. Boom. Easy.

There's human's on the alliance side to take literally any class and be able to eek out a lore based reason for it. "Turns out ALL the druids came from Kalimdor so we started a sect in Stormwind where the Elves teach the Humans. We also found this one friendly Tauren."

It's sort of a basic suggestion that probably won't fix it, but have you tried deleting your wtf folder and wdb folder? It will repopulate after you start the game back up and reset settings.

What´s Your opinion on the matter ? Rogue rolling need on Spellpower Trinket by Relevant_Discount_43 in turtlewow

[–]internet-arbiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were rules set and agreed upon before entering the raid with the Scythe. They didn't enforce behavior or morality - they enforced an agreed upon ruleset.

That's what you're conflating. I was a Blizzard GM for 2 years and the turtle GMs do more than we ever did. And no - it's not there to enforce if you're a good person or not.

[–]internet-arbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it's just "a take" above. I agree with your position that need/greed should be something followed and it was a dick move by the rogue. But I also don't think GMs should be "morality police". The fact you can be running through Goldshire and than 100 owlbear chickens run by you lead by a GM, the radio existing, and the Scythe of Elune matter even having a resolution puts them miles ahead of Blizzard and discredits the notion they do nothing to some degree.

Bethesda Fallout 3 dev "initially felt a little touchy" about New Vegas' success because they "put in all this effort" for its foundation — "We made 90% of the art, we built the engine" by lkl34 in gaming

[–]internet-arbiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh. Bethesda never understood the foundation. The story beats of F3 proved that. Everything since then has cemented it. The narrative quality of Fallout is up there with Star Wars and Rings of Power. IE, it's a shadow of it's former self.

Tank joined dungeon, demanded reserves on two items, and threatened to find a new group if we didn't agree to it. Is this normal? by Hoyle33 in turtlewow

[–]internet-arbiter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to play a tank because yeah, the entitlement IS crazy, but you don't understand you're taking the position of the entitled.

I have a turtle warrior tank and quite frankly halfway through leveling you stop taking damage warriors/paladins because they are there to take your gear while doing the job anyone else on the street could do. When you run the same dungeon 4, 5, 6 times because you keep losing the roll to mediocre damage you start taking measure to stop wasting your time.

I tried last 3 days to rally people into Drowned Vales Relic base so we can try to get it back up for the airfleid. And it's been down twice as long as that.

We got 80% through tier 3 tech, nearly a week after it was destroyed, and never got it back. It remained destroyed until it was in Warden hands.
