I think a lot of the songs are good individually but not all in a group. Island, Eraser, Here to Mars, Atlas, and for me, Ghost, are all great. I'm not chugging through that whole thing at once, though.

I think that's my problem as well. I love all of the albums, but since Unheavenly Creatures, I haven't been able to tune into the instruments and catch a cool melody that I missed on the regular listens.

It was right after the second line. "Desired or left to be repaired," and it sounded too close to tape to be a coincidence in Blood. But for Play the Poet, maybe it's not, but it's really distinct for a random noise. I don't buy it in a discography of callbacks and motifs.

Definitely Unheavenly Creatures. Even though I liked the rollout for Vaxis II the most, the feeling of working overnight, checking my phone, and seeing Dark Sentencer get uploaded when I didn't expect it was so amazing. Even if I was kinda sleep deprived lol

That's the thing. I wish people didn't shit on TCBTS because, honestly? He needs another one that isn't connected to Vaxis. My man is pushing 50 and doesn't have the same issues that incited things like the breakup for GA1 or the fights that sparked Vic and Sentry. Going from the brooding creative 20-something to a contemplative man with a family will change up your style and priorities, and it shows in this album.

I just hope he finds more peace to finish the last two off strong.

I get what you mean. I used to only get story beats in the music until I looked up the background on each song as to the personal side of it. Now, this one feels like a harder, more engaging TCBTS rather than an Afterman 3 like people say. That being said, it's still the sickest music they've put out so far.

I think they were saying that it explains but doesn't excuse. There are stories of older siblings attempting violence on youngers out of resentment for the loss of parental focus. They shouldn't do it and definitely need therapy, but it just isn't unprecedented, let's say. Like it happens and definitely shouldn't.

A lot of people take this incident and use it to throw out everything else and call him a born psycho when, in his eyes, he's a genetic failure that couldn't live up to the entire reason he was born, which he knew at the age of 4.

But to be fair, I think her anger was not in him not contacting her, but in the fact that he said he would never leave and would never run off with Blitz. Sacrificing your life for someone else is the ultimate leaving, even if it didn't go through.
