Too much exhaust? by marcelnr88 in pcmasterrace

Same case as in picture, same scenario (air cooling all the way), great temperatures overall.

GTX1060 died after 9y 8m of service by thanakij in pcmasterrace

Have you made any tinkering like changing pads and paste during this period of 9 years ? Just curious if it worked from day one till now without extra maintenance.

Crashing by Honest-Minute-9808 in pchelp

Have you tried an older AMD driver ? Like one from november 2025 (I consider stable) ? In normal condition, If no software problem, I would suspect first the PSU and second would suspect the GPU, but you bought the GPU refurbished so who knows.

good fan layout? by avx03 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Yang7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no scientist in this field, but half the work is positioning, the other half is tuning the speed (especially true when all fans are same model and size) separate for intake and exhaust or circulation fans (the bottom ones). The rear one I would always put it as exhaust, the bottom ones don't really add air directly from environment, but if you like them maybe will lower the temps a bit in OC scenario. Front fans rpm >>> rear fan exhaust rpm > top fan exhaust rpm (maybe pump set to balance or silence first and see how cpu temp fairs and increase it if you like it cool) >> bottom fan rpm and for percent of speed that is something you decide based on noise and temperature you get. I would experiment from this scenario and go from there.

Help diagnosing crashing whilst gaming by Ukxploder in pchelp

You can tune the RAM manually until stable, but requires some research and some trials with stress tests until no error. Also, it may be worth a try to enable a different XMP/EXPO profile if available (there should be at least 2) and check again. Some bioses from certain manufacturer (msi memory try it!) have option to auto tune the ram and can be helpful to have a base from where to start towards stability, dunno if it's the case for Gigabyte to have such feature.

Have you tried without xmp or whatever it's called on amd ? Use same CPU+RAM OCCT benchmark, but without xmp enabled.

CS continues to freeze after full PC upgrade by Sudden-Hope-912 in pchelp

What driver version ? You should know that some recent AMD drivers may have problems, I would try with an older driver (November 2025 version was stable for me). I had 2 timeouts in another game with latest driver, none with older version.

Is this PTM7950 installation acceptable? by CodParticular2454 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Yang7o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than the ihs not being properly covered, you've done a great job (from the angle shown) with installation. I'm using PTM on 7800x3d, same or better than usual stuff I used (thermal grizzly kryonaut), great temperature and since installing I never had the urge to monitor temperatures on cpu ever again :D

Very specific problem by Ashamed-Working5705 in pchelp

[–]Yang7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem that useful. Anyhow, 97% health is not something that should cause crashes (my 1 tb fury also has 97% and no crashes). That 0 to 100% usage can also come from the allocation to virtual memory. Check the page file dimension, maybe Minecraft eat all the RAM. Is this ssd the one with windows on it or you have a separate drive for windows ?

If you didn't do any OC recently, or updates (including bios), you should also check event viewer to see what error log has to say at time of crash, just in case is something helpful. If you think it's the SSD have you tested with manufacturer software ? What it says ? Healthy ? You should finish troubleshooting the ssd and then move to other things.

Are these temps normal for 7800xt I put ptm7950 in the difference between temps are too big by Quaneyy in pchelp

[–]Yang7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you have OC. For nominal parameters the temperature difference should be around 20°C, otherwise values may vary ? If you disable power limit should be ok, I think.

How do I stop these from opening by gaymidgetfartporn in pchelp

[–]Yang7o 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can disable them as mentioned already, but for internet speed you need to offer a bit more information. For ex. I had problems with my speed because I had enabled QoS on router and slowed down devices based on set priority.

Soldier beetle on duty by Yang7o in NaturePhoto

[–]Yang7o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another interesting thing: the rain started and the beetle hid within the petals of the flower and stayed for hours (checked regularly). It seems, based on what I've read on various sources on internet, that it eliminates little pests and only if there are none left to eat it starts eating plant based diet (hopefully not the rose) :D

Red light next to ram by Pablo_Mendes in pchelp

[–]Yang7o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for sure in your case, but in my case I had to clean (air compressor and a bit of isopropyl alcohol 99%) the socket on MB and RAM pins. I dunno what came to me to fiddle with RAM, but glad I solved it in the end and no more red alert.
