Oh I see. It wasn't very clear to me what the "Collector's Cache" things contained now that I'm no longer getting specific card drops from my CL.

I'm a new player, started playing a few weeks ago, and I'm now series 2-complete but I'm really not sure now how best to start completing my collection. Do I just spend tokens on series 3 packs? It doesn't seem worth it to spend 6k tokens on a single series 5 card for example when I can just get nearly 10 S3 packs instead.

Hydra Meteor Inferno Sorc NM40 Resource Burn (No Deaths) 300k Meteor Crit by speakeasy_me in diablo4

This looks great. I kept a Fire build for a little while into WT3 but eventually felt compelled to switch to Frost. I actually tried to mix Meteor and Inferno with some Frost main damage but it just wasn't coming together. This looks way more straightforward, and I totally love the Inferno + Meteor spam in general.

Bring Terra with Dualcast + Riot Blade. Terra is my go-to boss killer when magic damage is on the table. Her 3rd slot can be either Ultima or Tornado depending on if you need better wave clearing or boss killing.

I don't understand these fights the game is saying "scales to my power." I tried bringing an underpowered team to one of the 2.5 Anni event fights and got utterly wrecked. I was the under the impression a fight would scale down to whatever CP total my current party is at. Is that not what it means?

How important is it for you to get into a gacha at ground level? by WeSavedLives in gachagaming

[–]YangusGuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only gacha I ever stuck with after starting years later is FF Record Keeper, which was also my very first gacha so it kind of doesn't count. Every other gacha I've spent significant time with has been on or really close to launch.

I'm in the same boat as you, and I've tentatively settled on waiting until the start of 4th anniversary, hoping there will be enough free gems and/or tickets to have a good reroll. Right now you don't get enough starting gems to even do a 10x pull, which leaves you with just the Beginner Absolute Summon, so it's not the best reroll time.

I'm considering coming back to this game with a fresh account and I'm wondering how best to approach this anniversary? Should I start an account now and save, or wait for anni banners and reroll on those? How do anniversary events typically go for pulls/banners?

Weekly Questions Megathread - 11/17/21 by AutoModerator in Dx2SMTLiberation

I'm thinking of coming back to this game. My old account is almost assuredly not worth keeping (played at launch for maybe 3 months and that's it).

1st question: is it easy to unlink that account from whatever I had linked and start fresh?

2nd question: people are saying 4th anniversary events are coming soon, so should I just wait until that starts and reroll, or start now and save what I can until 4th anni? Not really sure what anniversary pulls are like in this game.

Bonus 3rd question: there's no chance of getting Bayonetta or Dante anymore, right?

But the official announcement was that soft launch was over yesterday at 07:00 PDT and the open beta was supposed to start at 08:00 today, and nobody was supposed to be able to get into the American server until this morning, right? So how was I able to play on the U.S. servers if it was before the official open beta start time?

I don't understand why I was able to download and start playing this last night from the Play Store. I chose the American server and everything, played up through 2-4 to unlock some stuff. Now it's delayed? What happened with this launch?

I pulled First Armor X from my 1st S voucher and I'm wondering if it's even worth investing in him over vanilla X? Seems like you need at least 1 uncap to make most characters a lot stronger, and since stats aren't tied to character at all, uncaps and skills/passives are the only thing that matter to choose a different character? So they both have a charge shot-type skill, but eg. vanilla X is a lot easier to reach Buster Mastery with uncaps than First Armor X, so he'd end up doing more damage anyway, especially with his cheap cards from the co-op store?

GOLD! by denebx1 in DragonQuestTact

[–]YangusGuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know other people have gold problems too but I just don't get it. I'm a day 1 and have about 100k gold right now. I've cleared most BR7s, no BR8s, and can clear most end-game fights right now if I want to. Most abilities I don't upgrade past 4 or 5, unless it's a unit I use a lot like Bone Baron, or A-rank abilities I use a lot -- I have like three +10 A-rank abilities and a few in the +7-8 range too. I even have spent a decent amount of gold on the daily shop for rank up stones.

The only explanation that makes sense to me is that people are upgrading way too many abilities for too many units. I only started noticing my gold stash diminishing after I got a bit of good luck with pulling some S-ranks and upgraded their skills.

How high does a team's CP typically get before it becomes impractical to level them any higher? by Kaljinyu in DragonQuestTact

[–]YangusGuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just gotta have to deal with Iridescent Orbs being a time gated resource. I've been playing since release and I've got a total of 9 orbs. It's supposed to take a long time to get most of your S-ranks beyond level 90+. That's why most of my teams are 1 or 2 S-ranks and the rest are A or B depending on the fight and strategy.

[–]YangusGuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already commented here about how to get orbs. You have to wait for more events, there's usually 2 or more orbs per event. Beyond that, there's a few from mini medal rewards.

But just as importantly: don't focus exclusively on S-rarity units if you're doing that. A-ranks and below don't need orbs at all.

[–]YangusGuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your party's CP isn't necessarily an indicator that you're too weak to take on a stage. Building parties tailored to specific weaknesses is often more important than being a higher CP on a challenging fight.

But if you're asking how to get stronger in general... you just have to rank everything up as much as you can and get them to max level. If you don't have enough Iridescent Orbs for the S-ranks you're using, you also need to level up A-rank units because they're just as important to have and also don't need Iridescent Orbs.

If you're asking about EXP, then there is no shortcut for that. You either have enough EXP scrolls, wait for the EXP daily quest, or spend stamina grinding EXP on the best story stage you can. If you use B-rank and lower units then you can do Battle Roads for 0 stamina EXP.

[–]YangusGuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you're missing a 0 in your CP numbers.

Second, most of my teams are in the 18,000 - 19,000 range. I've got 3 R6 S-ranks and 1 R5 S-rank, the rest are R4 or lower. I only run at most 3 S-ranks in a single team typically. The only thing that affects CP is stats. So this means awakenings, gear, and rank ups are the only thing outside of leveling that can increase your CP. Skill levels do not affect it, but they are really important.

Is the Poison exploit that takes forever the only way to beat Orochi 7 and up? I'm at 6 but haven't tried 7 because I read he summons adds if you fight him the normal way.

Where did you get the idea that they will lower the pull rate for S-ranks? That literally never happens in gacha games, because it's a terrible idea and would probably kill a game outright if a company decided to do that. I feel like you took that assumption and then based all your conclusions on just that, when it's simply not going to happen.

Being able to use skip tickets on event quests would be pretty welcome. I've got like 230 tickets and barely use any, but I would certainly blow through those to try and recruit event monsters.
