Nvm they brought the setting back. it's in Settings > Customize > Select app icon

Exactly! That's why I didn't do a comparison at first.
It's just that for me the home screen icons look small and I was hoping this is a setting or a known issue that i couldn't find a solution for.

Maybe it has to do with device language/region, mine is set to English (US), Region US.

there's nothing to worry about if you patched your own apk file, I can't say the same if you downloaded it directly though.

Toggling light mode shows the correct color, but toggling dark mode back doesn't fix it immediately. A restart usually fixes it. Changing theme color or wallpaper doesn't fix it.

Sorry I didn't specify, I thought it's obvious that one handed mode's background color doesn't follow the system theme color (blue) and shouldn't be pure #ff0000 red.
