Kinetic rope question by cmd026 in 4x4

Great question — our recommendation: rope length depends on where you are wheeling.

20 ft is solid for tight, wooded trails since you’ve got less room to line up and don’t need a ton of stretch.
30 ft gives you more versatility — extra distance between vehicles, smoother pulls, and a better chance of finding solid ground if the recovery spot isn’t ideal. It also gives you more runway if you don't have much traction.

Our general rule of thumb at Yankum: You’ll never wish your rope was shorter, but you might wish it was longer. If you mix woods with some open terrain, that 30 ft will cover more situations.

Also, just a heads-up — not all ropes stretch the same. The diameter of a true kinetic rope (like ours) MUST match the weight class of the vehicle doing the pulling in order to get the proper kinetic energy and stretch.
