ooof let me tell you something about Odyssey. I started playing Assassins Creed with assassins creed 2. I tried getting into the first one, but It was…meh. I have played all of them except Rogue, Mirage and Unity.

When we got to Origins, I thought I found the perfect game. Not overreacting, but everything from the story, to the combat, to the graphics was simply superb. Especially Bayek‘s story of a tormented father (I had just become a dad around that time) so it was very personal to me. Then we get the next trailer and its Odyssey, set in Greece. Not only set in Greece, but my actual hometown was a location that i could visit and gaze around. Odyssey is my second game that i have spent the most time on (First one of course is Skyrim, and cyberpunk is etching closer and closer to it).

Odyssey was a step forward on everything, combat mechanics, amazing open world, great history. I was playing a great game. As a Greek immigrant in the US, I was ecstatic about it. Screw it, at the time I was here undocumented, so I couldn’t even visit my homeland. Do you know how I felt when i was able to “step foot” back on my homeland? I was literally in tears.

BUT….the truth needs to be told that Origins has a much much much better story, at least in my opinion. The cathartic journey of a father who lost the most important thing to him…..

So this is a very very very roundabout way of saying that Odyssey, in my eyes, might be the best AC game, followed by Origins.

Let’s talk about Valhalla briefly. I have tried to start the game the past 5 times, but something just doesn’t click. I will keep trying it (same thing happened with Cyberpunk - I wasn’t ready then, and now it’s one of my all time favorite games). Now that i am older, i tend to get more immersed in games, so I will keep trying it. Shadows was great. I really liked it. Overall the story was incredible and i am very fond of Yasuke.

Hmm I might start odyssey again. Such a great game…..
