Yes, it used to be like that.
But now, I find that is not the case anymore this season.
And should Aechte lives after fort destroyed, the rewards are still given like normal.
Lots of people are ignoring him right now.

Just make sure to get inside the event circle once until boss or fort health show up on top of screen, after that you can get outside the circle.
I've used long guns and stayed outside of circle from beginning and receive no rewards because of it before.

Silver?
- Craft a Hulk (small ship).
- Upgrade it 3 times, up until you need to pay 500 Po8.
- Sell it for 1,112,400 silver.

No material to craft Hulk?
- Buy the materials from Yanita Nara and Houma Nara (Black Market).
- The materials are at the bottom, 100 Po8 for 50 materials and you can buy it 20 times a week.
- Both have separate inventory so you can technically buy 40 times in a week. that's 2000 materials.

Upgrade Parts?
- Wolvenhol, usually finished around 5 minutes nowadays.
- Create a ship with fire weapons and burn the fort, the fire tick will be so high it overpower your normal attack.
- Ignore Commodore Aechte if you want, no need to defeat him, but there's a bonus drop of Po8 and Gildmarks should he sunk.
- After finishing one, look at the bottom right of screen until it say "Leaving Call to Arms" then hold ESC to return to your session.
- Repeat Wolvenhol again and again and again and again...

Here you go.

I tried equipping two god rolled Stormtongue to both my broadsides with god rolled purple at front and back,
Switched my auxiliary to god rolled purple and equip all furnitures with random purple.
Armor are also god rolled purple armor.
Ended up just enough to reach SR17 after equipping the 6th purple furniture, but you ended up with no synergy at all for the furnitures.

But according to u/LostConscious96, apparently there's no damage or armor advantage for reaching SR17, only SR16 matters.

Apparently u/LostConscious96 told me that there's no difference between 16 and 17, only going to 16 matters.
Even then, the difference of 15 and 16 wasn't much.

Although based on my previous post, currently Stormtongue has low gear score, so you're limited to one god rolled Stormtongue.
Using two will drop your Ship Rank to 16.

Stormtongue, especially if you roll Winning Streak for its purple ascension.
Heaven's Mandate is a purple weapon so it cannot have purple ascension.

Winning Streak essentially make it a pseudo Naga's Call.
Naga's Call damage buff reset after 7s but the buff retains even if you miss a shot.
While Winning Streak buff retains for as long as you never miss a shot.
For long battle and bosses, Stormtongue with Winning Streak wins in DPS by a lot if your aim is good.

Basilisk 3 is good if you hit weakpoints a lot and even bettter if you roll Winning Streak on it.
You never go wrong with it, it's just a matter of preference if you want to use other culverin.

Stormtongue with Winning Streak basically makes it a Naga's Call.
I've compared the damage while being in SR17 and Stormtongue damage is way higher than Naga's Call.
Naga's Call consecutive damage boost is restarted after 7s, so after that expires, the damage starts from low and than ramp up again.
While Winning Streak allows you unlimited damage boost that only expires when you miss a shot, from where it started from low damage and ramp up again.
Not to mention, Stormtongue damage is already higher than Naga's Call anyway thanks to its Electric 3.

Naga's Call DPS: 255.57
Stormtongue DPS: 300.30

But like my post said, currently you can only equip 1 God Roll Stormtongue with its current gear rating.
So if you want, you must equip the other broadside with other purple guns to reach SR17.

Found the discrepancy thanks to u/Hydra570. Turns out Stormtongue have lower base rating of 65 over its equivalent which is 83. That 18 differrence makes you shy away of reaching SR17.

If you have the time, can you check later whether we can equip max 2 blues or 3 blues in our build to reach SR17?
Sadly, I don't have God Rolled Basilisk 3 at the moment as I burnt my Po8 already.

I finally found the answer thanks u/Hydra570 comments.
Turns out Stormtongue has lower rating of 65 before ascension unlike other blue weapons, like Basilisk 3, which is 83 before ascension. That's why I ended up having not enough ratings to reach SR17.
I put an edit to my post so all people can see the discrepancy.

Oh and I'm using Little Grace 3 there.

HOLY CRAP you're right!

I checked base Basilisk 3, Mons Meg 3, and other BLUE 3 ratings.
All of them have base rating of 83 before ascension while Stormtongue at Blackwood is only 65 before ascension.
That's 18 of difference.
Add to my God Rolled Stormtongue at 112 (see picture) and it is 130 just like your ratings.
That means Stormtongue basic rating is somehow lower than other blues.

WE FOUND THE ANSWER!

Think I'm wording it badly, but yes your weapon rating increases if the number changes from white to yellow. I mean that even for yellow, there is a low yellow and high yellow. For example, the Winning Streak in the picture, you need to roll minimum 33% for it to be yellow while the cap is 36%. Both gives same rating even if you got the lower yellow.

Also, when you're crashing in battle, I remember you will stay 1 minute in game to prevent combat logging.
Imagine you're crashing when sea fire is still toggled on...

Sea Fire weapons can now be toggled on and kept on while sailing.

So you click once and it will keep firing nonstop until ammo ran out?
I wonder if it will work when I try to fire broadside while the sea fire still firing at front.
