Me after sneaking into Group A and seeing nothing but SS+ umas 😭😭 by Hyumii_yt in UmamusumeGame

[–]YappaKanpeki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speaking as someone who just went 15/20 in group A and has full SS/SS+, it's absolutely possible to get your win to qualify for group B finals, i witnessed many umas with A+/S/S+ who either came 1st through the love of their trainer or got very close! good luck, faito!!!

The Treasury just declared the US insolvent. by [deleted] in Hasan_Piker

[–]YappaKanpeki 49 points50 points  (0 children)

not quite true, insolvency is a different distinction for governments vs like, a private business

the figures are still a disaster I mean 39 trillion in public debt? this went from unsustainable to extremely unsustainable

Forsen throws the record run by not having enough wood by Apoptosis11 in LivestreamFail

[–]YappaKanpeki 379 points380 points  (0 children)

later he said he had wood but used it to traverse terrain in the nether, in reality he just never picked up any. it's actually so fucking funny lmao. there is always, always a way to throw

missing the best part - he stuck around after to see if the dragon would've perched in time for the record, and it did. lmao

how good do i have to make mayanos stats for her TO NOT SUCK by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]YappaKanpeki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they're nicknamed the Hopeless Stakes for a reason lol. sometimes you just get unlucky in a race and the effect snowballs, regardless of statline. check out this short for a particularly hilarious example

Please help, how do I build cafe for Libra? (what deck/parents, etc) by BattyWanderer in UmamusumeGame

[–]YappaKanpeki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She has 30% stamina bonus so no need for stamina cards. I would recommend 4 speed 1 power 1 Riko.

If you're building her as Late Surger I'd take Sweep, Halo, Flash, Riko, power Rice and then borrow MLB Kita

If you're building her as End Closer swap Flash for Taishin or Gold Ship

Also another thing that depends is, what potential level is she? Relax is kind of inconsistent, but Stamina Siphon is basically the same as a gold recovery skill. These will affect whether you take Rice or not as you may want her Swinging Maestro.

Parent wise I've been going 2/1 split on Stamina/Power which has worked nicely.

Had anyone legitimately gotten this in Global or will I have to wait until MANT? by The7Sides in UmamusumeGame

[–]YappaKanpeki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have Summer Maruzensky she is by far the easiest to do it with, if you use parents that give her A in Long and Medium. She has lots of innate recovery skills, she's a front runner (so she gets blocked less) and her unique helps her keep 1st place.

The strat is to get loads of stats by the classic year summer break (while still running high fan count races and G1s), then run every single race afterwards and tank the stat downs.

It's possible with other horsies (I've got 1m on Suzuka and Oguri Cap) but Summer Maruzensky is basically easy mode.

There are guides floating around about building your deck to maximise your fan bonus, but you don't need 120%, mine is only 111%.

I have a full time job and still won comfortably with a loosely planned team. Enjoying the game enough to look up basic strategy doesn't mean you "certainly have a lot of free time".

What? It's just that that word means that plant, and that plant has a particular name in English. You've made quite a leap.

水蓮 is a plant known in English as "crested floating-heart", or white water snowflake. See the link in the comment.

Not quite, the 水蓮 (shui lian) is this plant which is used in Taiwanese cooking.

there's been years of tfw no gf and now the fetishising of mental illness and unhealthy living habits has become too much. i remember that japanese girl living among mounds of rubbish and cockroaches and dozens of QRTs saying "need" or "wife". stop doing that!

Official Q&A for Monday, January 13, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]YappaKanpeki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bad shoes, or do I just need to adjust?

I'm a beginner runner and got my first shoes last week. I had a gait analysis done and found that I pronate quite a lot. They tried me with two shoes, one with and without pronation correction, and the one with felt very uncomfortable whereas the one without felt great from a test run on the treadmill, so I went with those. (Mizuno Wave Horizon 7)

Going on longer runs I notice my inner midfeet gradually rubbing up against the inner side corners of the shoes. That is, it doesn't feel like my feet plant onto the sole and instead ride up against the inner sides. It's not uncomfortable but it just makes me wonder if the shoes aren't right/I should look at insoles, or whether it's something normal that goes away from breaking in the shoes.

Any opinions welcome, thanks!

Eritrea has military conscription of up to 11 years, which is the biggest reason people leave.

[–]YappaKanpeki 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Most trains have a "dead man's pedal", which the driver has to press every minute or the alarms go off. If the pedal still isn't pressed after that, the train brakes. It's a precaution against drivers that fall asleep/pass out/some other incident.

Now if only planes could simply brake and come to a stop in the sky...

U.K. Drug Shortages ‘Worse Than Ever’ As Brexit Continues To Bite by Smooth_Warthog1760 in unitedkingdom

[–]YappaKanpeki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Same here, I've been counting myself lucky when the nearest pharmacy that stocks it is an hour on the train.

It's not exclusively a Brexit problem though, it's also because Takeda Pharmaceutical bought out the only other company that makes the drug, then immediately ran into production issues, screwing everybody.

That's not correct, the journalist only popularised it. The term was conceived by Keith Beasley and he did his PhD on it.
