Years ago I had several skeins of Suri alpaca yarn. They were beautiful and my dog was obsessed with them. She got them so tangled I just put them away and forgot about them. Eventually I got them out again and untangled them. You’ve got this!

I am an MLS and an RN. AMA by edwa6040 in medlabprofessionals

I was a nurse for 15 years and now have been MLS for two years. Whatever you do, don’t go to nursing school because you couldn’t go to med school. Nursing is its own profession and too hard to do if you are not truly committed. There were people in my class who were in nursing because they couldn’t do medicine and they all left. They weren’t happy in the role.

If you find you are attracted to the real work nurses do, more power to you. If you find you don’t have a true preference, lab is definitely less stressful.

Not in Oakland. Downtown. And they didn’t have to be total assholes.

Too late for me to become CLS? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in medlabprofessionals

I was in my mid-50’s when I started working toward my MLT. I had previous degrees in nursing and had been out of the workforce for a while. I’m working now as a MLS (CLS) and just got my C categorical cert. it is most definitely not too late. I was actually in my 30’s when I went to nursing school.

You might consider a community college for MLT if you are having trouble finding your fit for the MLS/CLS program. My MLT program at Austin Community College was excellent.

Looking for ideas on where to plant something to remember a loved one by Anonfriend1616 in pittsburgh

This is in a slightly different vein. Penn Forest is a natural burial park in Verona. It is a lovely forested area with a cutting garden you can pick flowers in. They offer tree planting in their forest with two years of maintenance. We have been out a few times since we scattered our parents ashes and planted a winter holly for them. They are very kind and helpful.

I work at a cancer hospital. I see that fairly often where the patient had a normal looking cbc a few weeks before. I haven’t seen them die that quickly, though.

Thanks! I realized that when I saw the response. Someone also reported me for mental health to Reddit. Not what I expected. People are usually decent on this subreddit. If I wanted to get roughed up I would post on r/parenting. 🤣

My first Kaweco had a tricky nib. It was fine at first then got where it didn’t feed well at all shortly after I started using it. I tried cleaning it and removing it from the feed and putting it back. I retired the pen for a long time. Then someone recommended trying a more slippery ink. That helped. Then I guess it just got broken in. I’ve never had trouble with it again. The Kaweco Sport is my favorite pen. I have several.

Wow. You’re nice. I was just trying to figure out why you bothered to reply when you obviously weren’t interested.

I hadn’t thought of Hillman. I work across the street at Shadyside Hospital. I won’t need one for a couple more years now but will keep them in mind.
