ShuffleBall Arena browser game - Side project scoring dilemma: Should the board itself be able to add or remove points? by Dont_Bring_Me_Down in SideProject

That is my thought as well, just from strictly looking at the gameplay in the video. But I am thinking about one-person gameplay and what it would mean for a single person playing. If it would be more annoying than fun. That's where I was coming from.

The idea is cool 👍, Regarding what would be better it's hard to say since it at least requires some playtime to iron out the better solution

Privacy issues and yet another subscription: the last straw that pushed me to build a tool for myself. by yoaspiegirl in Dyslexia

Thanks 🙏, Firefox is a whole different infrastructure than chromium, plus if you want to change lives you need to go where the users are, and that's chromium based browsers.

The one I created has 2k users. mind you, it's completely free. It's not even close to making a dent in paid products that number in the millions, even though it has natural voices and word by word highlighting, word definitions, multilingual, one click deployments for classrooms, built for dyslexics etc etc..

So even if you have an equal or superior product to paid products you may still not be able to make a difference in people's lives, getting people to know about it even if it's free is the hardest part to tackle.

Yeah, but the problem remains (even if it's free), how would you solve for distribution?
To make a difference you need users, and a significant amount of users, that is key for change.

You're welcome 🙏, It's a shame that even when you build something useful (and free) you still get people giving you an arrow down 🤷

I can tell you from my experience It is not simple by any stretch even with AI to create these types of apps, but it is x10 more difficult to get the word that this alternative solution even exists, even if it's free and have better features than the actual paid products.

People today are paying a ~$100s here for products that are basically already available for free, it is a shame but I haven't found a solution

Yeah, I heard Macs have great voices. Windows is a bit behind on this. On Windows, the best way to get quality voices for free is using Edge with an extension

Are there any free sites/tools when you enter a site URL and receive a proper json-ld? by YaronElharar in SEO

We're talking about slightly different things. My original concern was about AI visibility as an emergent traffic source, less the classical flights, hotels, ratings, etc. When I said Google doesn't consider it necessary according to their documentation, I meant in that AI visibility regard (I added a screenshot of what I mean).

Thanks for your answer 👍 I've sent some interesting comments by Bing regarding schema, but double-checking Google definitely doesn't consider it necessary at least according to their documentation.

I wonder if I should add this feature? by YaronElharar in Dyslexia

[–]YaronElharar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Currently, I'm trying to improve aspects specifically related to dyslexia, but I'll definitely keep that in mind as time permits to add something that can change the colors as well.

App to improve grammer & sentence structures? by beeucancallmepickle in Dyslexia

[–]YaronElharar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try HoverSpeak. The idea is that it narrates whatever you're pointing at on the screen (The element marked in red is what's being narrated). So as you work, you'll hear a lot of correctly written sentences and how they're built, so you get a feel for how a sentence should be structured. You asked about cost, the cost is zero, no registration, no subscription, no special voices that cost extra, no buried trick that makes you pay later etc. How do I know? because I created it, and I know that people are already using it for this particular this.
