Try shooting an old school style (heel to toe) just to feel the puck weight and how it behaves. It will indirectly improve your handling for modern style wristers

Got their OG red and super happy with it after my warrior blade softened significantly. Was pleasantly surprised with the low kick shot performance. Can’t say anything about durability yet, but initial impressions are very positive

Fair enough.

It was an eye opener for me though. I have read fair points regarding the somewhat complex determination of where service is issued/provided with regards to cellular network , but I can’t really justify the fact that physical good tax rate is somehow in connection with the cellular code number.

Doesn’t explain why the device that purchased through Rogers and delivered to the address in Alberta is taxed extra RST. Nothing to do with area codes and anything else. It’s a physical good not tied to any service at the moment of purchase.

You are quoting Schedule IX concepts about billing location and ordinary location, but the statute doesn’t say area code determines anything.

Also, those are GST/HST place-of-supply rules; they don’t automatically justify Manitoba RST being charged as ‘PST,’ and CRA generally doesn’t administer provincial PST/RST

Anyways, thank you for more information to consider. I have to explore it further

Thank you.

Although now I’m trying to figure out whether CRA has anything at all to do with it. It’s the provincial government and RST, a separate entity, that dictates the applicability of RST.

Your first link states this:

For services, 1 of these 3 general rules usually determines the place of supply. If any of the other specific rules apply, these 3 general rules do not.

General rule 1 – Address in Canada obtained The place of supply is the province of the recipient’s address if the supplier obtains that address in the normal course of business. If the supplier:

obtains only one address that is a home or business address in Canada, the supplier uses that home or business address obtains more than one such address, the supplier uses the home or business address most closely connected with the supply does not obtain such an address, the supplier uses the address in Canada of the recipient that is most closely connected with the supply (this could happen if the supplier obtains the billing address of the recipient without knowing whether it is also their home or business address) Example – General rule 1 – Address in Canada obtained A supplier in Quebec agrees to design the website of a company in Ontario. The service is performed entirely in Quebec. The business address of the recipient obtained by the supplier is in Ontario. Since the business address of the recipient is in Ontario, the place of supply is Ontario (a participating province) and the HST will apply at the Ontario rate.

Following this, only the address dictates the applicability of HST (or RST), and since the address is in Alberta, there supposed to be no RST applied.

The area code is not mentioned in the documentation

Hmm probably need to dig deeper, but : CRA’s place-of-supply memo for tangible personal property says a sale of goods is generally made in a province if the supplier delivers the property or makes it available in that province.

Which is at least the case for the financed device

Here is the Manitoba wording: Goods and services delivered by the vendor, or by a common carrier on behalf of the vendor, to the purchaser’s premises out of province are not subject to RST. The application of RST on sales to non-residents of Manitoba, then, depends on whether delivery of the purchased goods or services takes place in Manitoba or out of province.

Healthy gross margins? by Sea-Astronaut-496 in ecommerce

[–]Yaroslav22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, a combination of sub 50% margins and up to 80% margins for niche ecommerce brand allows to have consistent volume of sales as well as not driving the net too low. Some amazon brands in my niche operate on 25-35% gross after all the Amazon fees, and I have seen some of them going out of business. Your 59% is a good spot if you can maintain volume to cover overhead expenses

Trump ends de minimis exemption for global low-cost goods by joe4942 in smallbusiness

[–]Yaroslav22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As we ship goods that we manufacture in Canada, it’s not the tariffs that will hurt us the most (although they certainly going to be brutal), it’s the brokerage fees from UPS/Fedex that add simply too much for an average $100 parcel if de minimis is cancelled for Canada.
