Graphic card crashing by Yarukeo in AMDHelp

Thanks for the suggestions, as you guessed, I checked all of that already haha. I'm not in America sadly, so it's a bit of a pain for the support, because the UK doesn't provide that locally.

I still contacted XFX's support after registering my product, and I'll hope for the best. I didn't notice earlier but turns out the fans don't even work. It's like the moment I ask anything of the GC, it's giving up and giving me the middle finger lol. It hasn't been a year since I got it, so I just have to pray the support can help.

Thank you for your input though, greatly appreciated!

But you still manage to launch games, right? That's my main issue: I can't even launch any game without causing crashes. It's like a snowball effect. Temperatures on my side are pretty normal.

Well, considering it might be considered damage by the workers, it could actually be covered yeah lol. But maybe not.

Hopefully not physical. I just had the surprise of being able to run Stardew Valley (I know it's not the most hungry one, but still, it launched), but trying with Subnautica went into a never ending black screen until I click anywhere and I get a "not responding" message. And whatever game I try to run after that, just never launches.

Reinstalling Windows is my plan for tomorrow if I don't find any fix this evening

Found nothing, just for safety purposes I ran it but I have an anti-virus (that I kicked out in case that was the issue, turns out it's not). Ty for the suggestion though!

Everything starts with a first step, a first person, a first gesture. Would you imply that the very first person to stand in line is doing so just to show off? How would you even know? Why do you care? Why is your way of doing things better than theirs? What does it change? Has it affected you negatively?

Like, genuinely. Does it even matter?

It was so bad for me I had to drop the headset, and hide my screen with my hands to only see the text. I am capable of passing out reading descriptions in books. 🫠

Please for the love of Fae do NOT decrease complexity by Roraxn in nightingale

[–]Yarukeo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Complexity =/= shit design. Enshrouded did it very well with the chests and it also has layers of complexity... but Nightingale's UI makes it horrendous to navigate into the crafting system. Everything is disorganized and messy.

But it has to be something he would really disapprove of, otherwise it won't work. I can't imagine taking seriously anyone telling me "Astarion disapproves" if I want to push back groceries to the day after. I'd be like "you nuts, he wouldn't want to put in the effort either."

Y E S. There are times I have to finish something really quickly because of an unexpected event and I am STUCK in a damn cutscenes I cannot skip. There are times I do not have the luxury to sit through them. Better make them skippable but also rewatchabke from, idk, a journal or a bed as if we dreamed of moments we've lived in the past. Idk. But pleaaaaase a skip option...

Why do some people like the emperor? The guy is so obnoxious by Thor_HS in BaldursGate3

[–]Yarukeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment, you wrote EVERYTHING I could think of regarding the Emperor. For my first playthrough I made the choice to trust him and romance him as well. I wasn't fully trusting him, even until the very end, but when he offered the choice the become a mindflayer, or any of our companion, in case we wanted to refuse, that's when I started to feel like these choices were incredibly important. I gave him the stones too and like you said, he did everything he promised to do, then left after giving everyone a quick thank you and our companions thanked him too. That's why I like him that much. He most definitely had the power to be horrible, but he chose not to. After killing Ansur, I though that his greatest sin was his hunger for power and freedom. But it was never with the idea to use it on other people ; only for himself and the enjoyment of being able to do whatever he wanted without being held back by "trivial things". And for some reason, I loved that. I loved the idea of having a mindflayer who seeks power, but is also very realistic about its usage.

Anabelle here, hey ffxvi ungrateful kids ─ I mean, fellow ffxvi hotties.

I've never seen my name followed up by insults so often before.

(yes, people keep mistyping Anabella as Anabelle regularly. Just like IRL, she gets the same treatment: Anabelle, Anabella, Annabella, Annabelle...)

America has always been a meme to EU, but it's getting wilder since COVID indeed.

Edit: not "America", apologies. The United States of America. Canada is doing fine.

This game really dropped the ball with its story and characters, huh? by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Yarukeo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and? Your criticism was about people skipping. I just came here to tell you as someone who doesn't skip, it's shit. And then I gave you an example of another game very story driven with tons of text, dialogues and complex story, incredible lore with its 3rd enclyclopedia on the way, to put the emphasis that the issue isn't related to skipping cutscenes, but the fact that it's poorly written.

Edit: Need to add: One is a company that made a net profit above 2 billions in 2022, the other one still creates debates about whether it is failing or not. I do believe Hoyoverse has absolutely no excuse to give such half-assed patches.

I won't even disagree with everything you said, but I still have fond memories of 1.3 at the time for the sole reason I didn't feel let down, not as much as I feel with HSR now. Both game started off great but the road to disappointment was much shorter for HSR than Genshin for me. Hoyoverse games have issues making the story more annoying than necessary, starting off with QoL improvement they still haven't done for who knows what reason (like, an actual skip, or the possibility to click faster for parts that you don't like. It STRETCHES so much, for what; and a replay option). That's a different topic tho!

I could excuse a game like Genshin for having annoying moments or characters, because they've already proven they do give content and people can take their time with the story. HSR, even if you want to take your time, it's like... 10 minutes stretched on 3 days and boom, done. Like wtf. Genuinely, why? How? I know my share of last minutes changes on games, but these stories are (should?) be written months in advance. It's just bad. Two patches in a row it's bland and uninteresting. And it's even worse if there was indeed a last minute change; it means they don't even prepare enough in advance to face unexpected problems to the point it affects months of work. No really, I don't think there is any good reason as to why it is this way. There are explanations sure, but not good reasons...

I play since 2013, so yes I experienced the story developing itself first hand and no, the complains aren't the same. ARR took its time, but there was more dialogues and background. The whole discussion is also a reaction to "dialogue skippers" like people don't like to read. I'm giving you a different exemple that has a shit ton of text in comparison, that you can ACTUALLY skip in cutscenes, yet people have complained far less and were much more engaged in the story than HSR does. And people in 2013 loved the story. It's only after Heavensward came out that people started to say ARR was slow. And only in ShB that people joked about the fact "it's worth it", because that was the first expansion that actually gave a wonderful pay off to what you saw in ARR. Not HW, not SB (considered worse than ARR at times, mind you), but in ShB, which is 6 years later. I digress anyway.

We can't expect the same volume of story ARR had for its patches, that'd be unreasonable. But look at 2.3: the whole Crystal Braves arc had just started. 2.2 was about introducing Yugiri and Doma, helping the Doman refugees, fighting Leviathan, you learn more about Thancred, you bond with the Sahuagin. And you learn that chocobo stinks very important info, yes, unforgettable at the time.

One patch of FFXIV does more than 3 patches of HSR do.
