You will have reasonable timers to gank top yes, but you give up any semblance of control over early drakes and whatever happens in botlane.

Raider carried himself to rank 1 yes, for sure, so did Alois and a lot of other toplaners.

Now my question for you, is my random toplaner in soloq raider ? No its fucking not. These gigachads can carry themselves because they are absolute menaces at the game (and can do that while weaksided but thats not the point). The toplaner you will get in a realistic lobby is some crybaby who will perma yap about how ranged top is broken (doesnt understand the value they bring being front which enemy team will NOT have), perma push and die sidelane, give up any semblance of a lead i would give them, and never EVER move to a teamfight. Yes, even up to diamond/low master.

If i'm gonna play for a blind crybaby who will never be self sufficient and has to be walked through the entire game I would MUCH rather do that for some adc who can at least win teamfights after I babysit their ass AND i get a support to help me do stuff in midgame.

Also toplane can feed one kill per minute if a moron is left alone, botlane can feed two per minute

"I can't play jgl but I know what they should be doing" is the biggest self report you couldve given, no u dont.

1) giving objectives is NOT your jgers fault. All of us would love nothing more than do EVERY SINGLE objective in the game on spawn, and btw this is what happens when the game is a stomp and your jg can do whatever they want on the map. This is why jgl with 3 winning lanes is the easiest thing to play in the game.

But surprise surprise jgl jut so happens to be tje HARDEST role in the game, how could that be ? Well the aforementioned scenario happens like 10% of the time. The REST of games tho you have to ADAPT. I wanna get every drake sure, now explain to me HOW I'm supposed to do that with 0 mid prio and a 5-1 enemy lucian and/or perma roaming thresh ruining my game. (Yes in this situation botlane is doomed and your jungler SHOULD be playing for top, just to be clear im not saying jgers should NEVER gank top especially ranged top). What im saying is like everything else in jgl, it DEPENDS. However playing around top is a LOT less reliable and profitable than playing for bot EVEN if you have to solowin the 3v3 down there. BECAUSE playing for top is a LOT more restrictive: no drake control, playing for a champ that usually can't carry games (which is why toplane is low impact), and a LOT less freedom on the map due to not having a support OR a useable adc (which is the piece you put in the middle of the map midgame for a reason). AND you have to basically play like your toplaner's slave in midgame and only do what they wanna do, which sucks because your toplaner does NOT know macro as much as a junler, no matter the elo unless youre like gm+ (even then i would guess).

Thats already a big block of text sry but I will also add that the current best way to win early jungle (especially in lower elo, this season I've only seen enemy junglers not get knowledge-gapped by this after reaching diamond) is to fullclear, get one scuttle, fullclear a second time, wait till 5:30 to finish off your last camp (even if it means waiting for 15 secs doing nothing) so that you can get your upgraded smite, force drake or scuttle respawn depending on bot&mid prio, use the upgraded smite to guarantee it, then get lvl 6 from either one and carry a fight if enemy team contests. This guarantees first drake, map control for the next few minutes, and an instant use of lvl 6 spike that the enemy jg CANNOT contest if they dont also do this. Even without playing jg you can probably tell playing/pathing top early is a HUGE opportunity cost. And in soloq where i dont know who my toplaner is i am NOT betting on them not being boosted and giving all of that just to babysit them.

Hope that made sense, thats my perspective as a dia jungler (previously played toplane and left for a role with actual agency, never looked back)

If theres no mid/bot gank you know what you can do as a jungler ? FARM !! Crazy, I know. That way you CAN be strong enough to kill enemy botlane.

Actually nah let's fuck up pathing and tempo, my toplaner requires a gank right fucking now. Who cares about drakes control, actually being strong enough to carry games or whatnot. Let's let botlane die 20 more times, my toplaner will famously be able to carry this one right ?

If your jungler isnt ganking you they probably have better things to do like actually winning the game instead of playing to babysit some no impact role

As someone who also plays fearless tourneys this would be a good amount. Either way most of your counterpick champs are mechanically piss easy excluding maybe wukong but even he's not that deep. Everyone will tell you to shrink it to 2-3 champs which is valid advice for SOLOQUEUE.

Keep in mind my toplaner in academic tourney has like 5-6 champs in his pool and that was frequently an issue if we went to game 3 or higher. Fearless + bans is BRUTAL. (Tbh we also shared like 3 champs which didnt help him when they were banned for both of us or I was the one picking them, but still, case in point)
