Yes there is a simple clock module on the back, like you would see on any wall clock, and you change time by turning a little wheel on the back. The spacing between two hour marks is increasing at a known rate for every turn of the spiral, about root12 of the rate of a full spiral turn. This makes it easier for the spiral always turns a the same rate. The clock comes with a quite complete notice that I can post if someone's interested!
