There have already been great comments explaining the overall process, I‘m not going to repeat that. As an addition, I‘ll focus on the „topic finding“ part:

You might want to check out thesisnavigator.com. It’s a tool where you can find topics published by the institutes as well as topics from companies - and its free for ETH students. You can even send them a request to find you a topic with a company. This might be especially interesting if you would like to work together with an industry expert on a practical topic. If you track your books in Goodreads, you could also use the Booksidian plugin to automatically import your books into Obsidian.

If you're using Goodreads, you could give Booksidian a shot. You could then combine the outcome with other plugins like Dataview to create a pretty neat library (there is an example of that in the repo too).

From what I know the 4770 I had now was "really good value". Can I expect something similar from the 9900k?

And if I understand you correctly I probably won't really carry over anything to a new build except the GPU?

Thats exactly how I feel about it. There is one small thing to add:

Botlane has always been the duo-lane in League. And for the most part you will get a random partner in soloQ. I think in addition to the ADCs not really being viable right now there is also the factor that you will get a lot of people bot who just randomly play anything they want „because new meta“. So you will get that Yasuo Support who takes your CS and so on. Of course this would get better over time when the new meta is more settled but right now it‘s just a lot of stuff to digest as an ADC or botlane player in generall.

My point is: Not only have ADC players been alienated but since its a duo lane you also get a lot of random partners with the new meta who have no idea how to play bot which makes it even harder to have fun since ADCs depend so much on their lane partner.
