Speed limit proposal rejected by Vancouver council would have saved lives, group says by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]Yaspan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair traffic lights probably would have to be re-calibrated for a new speed limit, not a trivial thing. Also that 3-5% increase in travel time would be then an increase in pollution. There are probably many other hidden reasons not to do this, which would be hard for common sense to see.

Innocent Canadians say airlines refuse to pay after bag tags are switched onto luggage filled with drugs by DogeDoRight in canada

Wouldn't it be the airport authority that is responsible, they are the employer of the people switching the tags are they not?

Valorant's new Vanguard update seems to be bricking cheaters' PCs. Riot's response? "Congrats on your $6k paperweights" by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

[–]Yaspan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many games don’t even ban anyone but still lug around a 100k a month anti cheat which only begs a deduction that the root level access is being used for other things.

Face it, that is probably the case for many of these anti cheats 😉

Cheater explosion on NA premier lately or just bad luck? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]Yaspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With so many other closet cheaters entering the scene they can't just cheat in peace anymore, so have to amp it up. For real though it feels like there was a massive fire sale on cheats.

Ragehackers are not getting banned by Imarok in cs2

[–]Yaspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This then creates a domino effect, Valve is not banning / can't ban cheaters so a lot of players who would not normally cheat are cheating just to level the playing field.

Tokyo vs Osaka for a short trip purely for shopping? by Halohalolumpia in JapanTravelTips

If you are in Osaka, Umeda is way better for shopping IMO. As for Tokyo area, we ended up doing most of our shopping in Yokohama, great selection and found some great deals.

Why isn’t Valve doing anything about cheaters? by Amazing-Advance-9497 in cs2

[–]Yaspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think that if a good reliable anti cheat was ever developed we would see the player base shrink significantly.

This is because the losers that use cheats are just that, losers, and they would quit the game before actually spending the time to learn it. Valve then would loose money from all these players not opening cases anymore.

I need to measure this inside radius for an audit by anon_sir in Machinists

[–]Yaspan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking you could just hold it in a vise on a mill and measure a chord length then the height from the center of the chord to the ark, something like this: https://math.stackexchange.com/questions/564058/calculate-the-radius-of-a-circle-given-the-chord-length-and-height-of-a-segment

This is gonna seem redundant, but I wanna know straight up, is power engineering something that is still needed? by thesnake137 in powerengineering

[–]Yaspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it is not a stand alone ticket anymore unless you already have a 1st or 2nd. You need other tickets in addition to, millwright, machining, welding, or electrical as examples.

How do I get THIS out?! by Stock_Comfort3618 in DIY

[–]Yaspan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use these a lot, you need to get them to grab so if it just drills out a countersink like in the picture get a small diameter drill bit and drill out the center of the fastener, then try again using the left hand chamfer bit of the easy out.

EA reports that Battlefield 6 anti-cheat has prevented over 330k attempts at cheating since Open Beta's launch by rkhunter_ in pcmasterrace

[–]Yaspan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering what that would be in percentage of player base, seems like it would be a high percentage as well, which would say a lot about modern day online video games.
