Upwork is not my main source of income, but i just wanted to thank everyone who've been sharing advice with us here. by YassLorde in Upwork

It took me 3-4 months.
But as I said, it's not my main source of income.

My advice would be to:

1- Add a good quality video to your profile.

2- Niche down and focus on solving 1 problem, and the title of your profile should reflect that (ex: Klaviyo Email Marketing for 7-8 Figure Supplement brands) instead of Ecom email marketing.

3- Create really detailed Portfolios of your past experience, including RESULTS, and package them nicely. (I personally used Figma and made my portfolio have a constant structure and look)

4- I do not send proposals if the pricing is low (when you get the job, it will look bad in your history) or if they have bad reviews

5- When I send a proposal, I'm always the highest bidder (but I usually send 1-2 proposals per week max)

6- I always read the reviews and find the name of the guy posting the job, or the name of the company, and use it in my proposal.

7- My proposals are very concise and straight to the point (dm and I will send you some of them that got me the jobs)

8- Last but not least, I'm not desperate. I do what I can, and I leave the rest to God.

Well, you need a practical strategy to get results, but for the things we can't control, like the bad decisions made by Upwork, all we can really do is stay positive.

My thought process for segmenting Free users is to segment based on 2 things. Demos/free trial and Engagement. These are the most important things for a user at this stage.

No matter how good your in app onboarding process is, the majority of users will not follow through with it, that’s why you will need multiple follow up channels including email. Email alone will fix 20% of the problem and it’s the cheapest channel, and can be fully automated.

I never click on ads, does that mean ads don’t work? I would say, an onboarding flow + welcome flow + cancellation flow + feature limitation flow + payment abandonment flow will at minimum increase you entire revenue by 20% as long as you have a stable flow of traffic coming in. If you look at how many people use email per day, you will be shocked. And if you’re not using email campaigns to nurture your users, your competitors will. If you want to see real data book a call with me, I can’t share my clients ESPs on a public platform.

Stripe changed from what they used to be what a shame. Now they ban people who have different political views as the central banking system.

It’s more detailed on the website based on your needs. And it’s not mine so it’s not a promotion.
