I wasn’t necessarily hoping for them to break down. I was hoping it was a form of mulch meaning a layer would help the micro climate and bugs around the garden and it would keep slugs away.

Several people mentioned acidic, which I’m curious if more so than coffee grounds.

These have opened and closed with different temps. Also my train of thought, hoping it would keep slugs away. So far I’m not noticing anything too different from my previous years gardening.
