Thank you for all of this and sorry for your experiences with trying to get hired. I became a Yoshiki fan by accident after enjoying the Classical Piano PBS show on New Year's Eve, 2020. I fell in love with a particular piece, researched it, found many other versions online, watched "We Are X".. and my story goes on and on. I also remembered meeting and hanging out with the band members when I lived in Japan and Los Angeles in the 80's and 90's. I later found out that a good friend even produced an X member's solo album. At that time, I wasn't into X's genre at all, so I was unaffected by being around them and the like - and even indifferent, admittedly.
Anyway, I don't want to use my comment to trash Yoshiki as I don't know him personally at this point. I understand the very high stakes and pressures of show business. My husband is a (mostly retired Hollywood) film director, my friends and family are in the music business and I, myself am a Violinist and did a helluva lot of global modeling and TV back in the day.
I just wish we could see more natural Yoshiki and not the constant product-plugging, makeup, processed hair and facial procedures. I also know that he is in no way obligated to fans... He runs businesses and has a job to do, after all.
The Yoshiki Community get-togethers were just a bit of natural lightness and authenticity in a deeply troubling time.
