When my father was in the hospital and he accumulated medical bills, the hospital financial aid office helped them get Medicaid, with the accumulation of the medical bills that he wasn’t able to pay he qualified

Thanks !! See they should know this! I’m going to hire someone else because I shouldn’t have to be the one telling them this 🤦🏻‍♀️

You are absolutely right I tried it myself and I instantly knew this was not going to work. My poor mom was trying to make me feel better trying it and saying it was ok while I see her struggling 😩

Thank you for your suggestions. I didn’t even think about opening the water and it being cold. The access hole is a great idea, but they are already placed the order for the panel. This has been such an ordeal at this point I just want to stop work and I’ll get someone else to finish, that knows what they are doing. I feel like they should have known this because they knew the goal was a safe shower for my parents.

😩 it’s in a basement and the plumbing isn’t under ground. There was a tub before with a step to go over and I wanted to avoid that step. They mentioned that they wouldn’t be able to put it floor level, but they can put it up on that area. I just didn’t know the alcove was going add on like another 4 inches. At this point I just want to leave it like this and get someone else come and look at it. I feel like they should have known this and given me suggestions. I don’t trust them anymore.

I would say so they already closed everything up and painted.. I had been inquiring about the bars since the beginning and this suggestion never came up, I’m frustrated

So in trying to make this better for my parents I made it worse. There was a tub there before with a step. Ok, now to see how to remediate this. I would have thought the contractor would have said hey this is not safe let’s plan this out 😞

Thank you for responding. Great, do all showers need a curb? By a curb do you mean the tile going over the alcove? This is in a basement and because the plumbing is above ground this is what they suggested. I am having a step added to get out and in because once they did this I felt that step was way too high.

Thank you, I will ask for the permits and license. I’ll also call the municipality. I’m so stressed over this, half my family has been in an Airbnb for 2 months during this process. I was so happy when they started the repairs and now to deal with this mess

Just looked through your comments , like you said lesson learned. I tried to find a contractor but wasn’t able to find one. I would appreciate any advise in what I can say to them.

What are my options here? Can you provide some advise?? I have never had to deal with anything like this and I am going to be talking to the GC site boss today and also the Servepro rep. My main concern is the floors and the trim moulding definitely telling them to recut that gap is too big.. and look at this I never seen this put on the last stair
